Most of you are probably familiar with the recent plight of Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, an American Marine imprisoned by the Mexican government for the past seven months for inadvertently crossing over the border with legal firearms inside of his motor vehicle. Sgt. Tahmooressi’s family, as well as millions of Americans from across the country who have been following his ordeal, have reason to rejoice today because he will finally be reunited with his loved ones on American soil. Gold Star Mother and citizen activist Debbie Lee has already created a Facebook page intended to welcome Sgt. Tahmooressi home, which we recommend you visit when you have the opportunity.

As the Fox News article about his release notes, this could not have happened without tremendous political pressure exerted upon the Mexican government. It’s an instructive lesson for those of us who have been fighting to change the dismal status quo regarding immigration matters.

Semper Fidelis.
