Keeping Track of The Senate

The markup of the Gang of Eight bill is well underway, with approximately 300 amendments to be voted upon before it’s rubber-stamped out of the Senate Judiciary Committee. You can view the ones that came up yesterday here. Of course, the amendments calling for the implementation of verified border security before legalization were handily defeated. Why the pretense of wanting to secure the border, rather than a simple, straight up amnesty? Your guess is as good as mine, but I think this little nugget of information might have something to do with it.

For timely updates on the bill’s progress, I recommend following Michel Marizco of Fronteras Desk. Also, check out American Rattlesnake’s Facebook page for daily-sometimes hourly-updates on the ongoing catastrophe.
