Bachmann’s Moment

The Bachmann campaign isn’t in the best of shape these days. However, there is at least one issue on which she is perceptibly better than her opponents, as we’ve pointed out in the past. Unfortunately, her campaign staff has not responded to inquiries made by immigration enforcement activists in New York City. Joanna Marzullo, the president of NY ICE, has some good suggestions for how you might be able to get her attention which are included below the fold.

Hi NY ICers,

Presidential Candidate Michele Bachmann was in NYC over this weekend and she spoke on Fox News Sunday.  I’m including that video and a link to the transcript at the end of this e-mail.

I liked what she had to say on our issue, particularly how she called Newt out on his history of supporting amnesty and the Dream Act for illegal alien students.

I also liked it when she said that she would make English the official language of the U.S. Government (finally!).

I’ve been trying to contact her campaign for some time, to network with her on this issue, and no one is getting back to me.  Supposedly, she has a New York contingent at her capaign website, yet no one is responding to my e-mails.

So, I called her toll-free campaign line at 855.624.7737 and practically begged for someone to get back to me.  I know that New York will likely never support Michele, I said, but I do have connections throughout this country, including Michele’s home state of Minnesota, and Arizona.

Maybe if more of us call we can get results.  So please call 855.624.7737 ASAP and leave a comment that you are with NY ICE and support her positions against illegal aliens and would like to hear back from one of her campaign staffers.  You can leave your own contact number or NY ICE’s, which is 718.701.5947.  Let me know if you hear back.

Here is the aforementioned link.

They all should highlight the enforcement aspects in dealing with immigration. Not necessarily the rounding up, Arresting of Illegals coming into cursory contact with law enforcement, and deporting of illegals but enforcement in the workplace, E Verify ect. They really should make more of the aspects of attrition through law enforcement. I have heard of the mention numerous times of the 100 billion $ price tag for Forcefully rounding them all up. More emphasis should be placed on enforcing the laws , as that is the main point used by the opposition to argue they should be allowed to stay because the laws have not been enforced. It would be harder for them to defend their position saying on the one hand non enforcement has caused the problem , while they have been the cause of non enforcement the whole time. This point should be hammered home , that now we are trying to do what they claim we should have been doing all along they still resit those efforts. The Hypocrisy should be exposed better. The image of storm troopers breaking down doors , Elian Gonzalaz , does not play well to those opposed to Illegal immigration on a moderate level.

The supreme irony is that Elian was here legally. Although Eric Holder and his DOJ goons had other priorities.
