May Day: Part II (Marx v. Washington) http://american-rattlesnake.org/2013/05/may-day-part-ii-marx-v-washington/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2013/05/may-day-part-ii-marx-v-washington/#respond Wed, 08 May 2013 01:31:11 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=14309 DSCN3519_1668

The purpose of  last Wednesday’s events, like the marches and rallies staged on Cinco de Mayo, was to pressure elected officials in Washington D.C. into repeating the same disastrous mistakes of the past. In this case, a wholesale amnesty which would cost upwards of six trillion dollars in the coming decades. While most of the people gathered in Union Square were open borders advocates of one sort or another, there was a spirited contingent of counter-protestors from New Yorkers for Immigration Control and Enforcement, a.k.a. NY ICE, whom I’ll get to in due time.

DSCN3510_1660

There were several journalists eager to cover the pro-legalization marchers, including a reporter-and I use that term advisedly-from the New York City affiliate of Noticias Mundo, a Spanish-language collaboration between Colombian channel RCN and cheap labor enthusiast Rupert Murdorch’s chief American asset, Newscorp.

DSCN3420_1591

And while there were many people agitated over the immigration-and the various proposals floating around Congress that purport to address the subject-as with any reasonably large demonstration spearheaded by the left, mission creep was evident from the beginning. The issue sprawl ranged all the way from global concerns, such as the controversial Trans-Pacific Partnership

DSCN3426_1597

…to more localized grievances, such as the cascading effects of the U.S. Postal Service’s insolvency, as well as the recently resolved school bus strike in the City.

DSCN3424_1595

The parlous state of our city’s public education system was also addressed-in both English and Spanish.

DSCN3425_1596

And of course, plenty of protesters blamed the dreaded process of sequestration-whose impact verges on the apocalyptic according to some analysts-for the plight of specific ethnic groups and economic classes.

DSCN3514_1663

The Sequester Game was an attempt to inject some levity into an otherwise earnest day of political sloganeering and ideological indoctrination.

DSCN3515_1664

One that drew upon traditional May Day tropes, such as this Maypole inscribed with exhortations to pursue various political projects of concern to the left. Although traditionally viewed as a festival heralding the arrival of spring, it is now an occasion which has been colonized by  those with a Marxist interpretation of history.

DSCN3511_1661

The top of the pole was graced by a papier-mâché babushka bearing a placard with a statement just as  ambiguous as her facial expression.

DSCN3444_1613

I saw a few familiar faces in the crowd, including the attractive young rollerblader who played the part of  a money bunny at an Occupy Wall Street rally held in Bryant Park last year. Rather than targeting her ire at Herr Bloomberg-whose last term is mercifully drawing to a close-she took aim at some of the investment banks which have balanced their ledger sheet by feeding at the public trough. One of the most conspicuous offenders in this regard, CEO of JP Morgan Chase Jamie Dimon, is depicted in the effigy seen above. A man who not only benefits from outright wealth transfers from American taxpayers, but also regulatory structures that inhibit competition. Pretty much the antithesis of capitalism, as it’s correctly understand.

DSCN3459_1626

One group that continues to loosely align itself with OWS is Anonymous.

DSCN3517_1666

If nothing else, the market for Guy Fawkes masks remains robust.

DSCN3460_1627

Although I’m not sure wearing them while manning literature tables is their intended usage.

DSCN3467_1633

Speaking of literature booths, there were a lot of them in Union Square Park, including those run by Marx’s bête noirei.e. anarchists.

DSCN3466_1632

They had a variety of pamphlets, including one exploring the concept of jury nullification.

DSCN3468_1634

DSCN3432_1602

Socialism today, socialism tomorrow, socialism…well, you get the picture.

DSCN3430_1600

The alternative to what? Prosperity and freedom, perhaps. Unfortunately, socialism and/or corporatism is the default economic setting for much of the world today, with a few notable exceptions.

DSCN3465_1631

The apex of socialism, of course, can be found in the proposition that the state exercises final authority over  its subjects’ bodies. Notwithstanding the fact that the lawmakers who crafted Obamacare are already fleeing from its consequences, there are still millions of people willing to go further down the rabbit hole of wholly socialized medicine.

DSCN3431_1601

I’m sure among those can be counted the Trotskyists who were gathered in Union Square.

DSCN3494_1650

As well as the small coterie of Bolsheviks I found as I made my way through the police barricades erected in anticipation of this event.

DSCN3493_1649

The woman wearing the strange, black and green biohazard cap was apparently in charge of this group, although to what purpose its members were being put is beyond my ken.

DSCN3453_1620

What I did glean from my encounter with the useful idiots-who weren’t so useful in this case-was that they had a problem being photographed.  I discovered this after having a conversation with the Don Pedro fan seen in the picture above. The idea that anyone would express a natural curiosity in people wandering around Manhattan wearing t-shirts extolling an ideology that has murdered between 50 and 100 million people, and deprived tens of millions more of their liberty, never seemed to cross their minds, such as they are.

Patiently explaining my purpose merely seemed to heighten his anxiety, especially after I gave him my business card and told him the name of this website. This is a brief recapitulation of our exchange:

Communist: American Rattlesnake? I don’t know if I like that name.

Me: Why are you disturbed by the name?

Communist: Because most of the time…that rattlesnake thing is for reactionaries and fascists who wave the American flag!

Me: Like the Latino family standing next to the George Washington statue

Communist: That’s different!

Me: How so?

Communist: Mmm…

(Followed by a minute of so of silence and a stupefyingly dull facial expression.)

DSCN3516_1665

I can’t say that I expected a more welcome reaction from the dozen or so emissaries of Bob Avakian, the founder and head of a bizarre personality cult called the Revolutionary Communist Party.

DSCN3471_1637

If the Shepard Fairey-like silkscreened t-shirts bearing Avakian’s youthful visage aren’t enough to set off alarm bells, a brief excursion to the RCP’s website-which gives North Korean propaganda a run for its money in the weirdness department-should be enough to persuade you that these people are certifiably insane.

DSCN3476_1640

DSCN3469_1635

One of the recurring mantras of the Avakian supplicants is that the “real revolution” is imminent, and that you should get with it immediately.

DSCN3481_1643

Or entrale a la verdadera revolucion, if you prefer. In either case, it’s redolent more of a Marshall Applewhite-led Heaven’s Gate initiation than scientific socialism.

DSCN3480_1642

Nevertheless, the declamation of  revolutionary Communism must go on, even if mesh, pop-up hampers must take the place of wooden rostra and bullhorns. Evolution, my friends!

DSCN3479_1641

In addition to cyberspace, the proteges of Avakian also broadcast their incredibly delusional message through the cutting edge technology of dead trees, which bolsters the thriving industry of print journalism.

DSCN3474_1638

Alas, my preliminary investigation of these pioneering revolutionaries was abruptly curtailed when several of them demanded that I cease and desist taking pictures.  I can’t imagine what possible objections Communists could have to some harmless photography, but I took thge dispute in stride and calmly described-once again-the purpose of this website. After one Avakianik insisted that I give him copies of American Rattlesnake’s “newspaper,” I proceeded to explain the concept of a news website and why mass-producing a newspaper on pulp, a la Screw or The Nation, is an unnecessary and costly investment. He was not persuaded.

DSCN3506_1657

Therefore, I decided to make better use of my time by studying some of The Master’s doctrine, including what seems to be the handbook for all aspiring Revolutionary Communists, Basics.

DSCN3504_1656

A compendium of Avakian’s lectures and writings, Basics can also be used-it turns out-as a handy visual aid. In this case, as a giant mercator projection that focused on the depredations which global capitalism has inflicted upon various parts of the globe. One of the worst seems to be the manifestation of widespread famine in developing nations that have embraced the free market. Apparently, collectivism is the way to go in agriculture. Yes, a proven success.

DSCN3508_1659

The fact that there was widespread famine and civil strife in India during post-independence, socialist rule, and that that devastating hunger could be attributed in large measure to misguided agricultural policies, is an historical anomaly, I’m sure.

DSCN3457_1624

It’s impossible to attend any protest organized by the left and not be greeted by several dozen-or hundred, depending upon the turnout-t-shirts bearing the image of Ernesto “Che” Guevara Lynch, one of Ireland’s most embarrassing exports this side of Bono. Just multiply the image you see above twenty or so times and you’ll have an idea of what walking around Manhattan on May Day is like.

DSCN3437_1607

Less recognizable than Argentina’s Che Guevara, but still admired by Marxists of a certain age and disposition, is Africa’s Che Guevara, i.e. Thomas Sankara, the president of Burkina Faso for much of the 1980s. Another friend of Fidel, Sankara even had his version of the Young Pioneers.

DSCN3441_1610

In contrast to much of today’s brain-dead, multi-culti, post-modern left, Sankara was a strident opponent of such quaint cultural-religious practices as forced polygamy and female genital mutilation. However, he was in favor of armed Marxist revolution-having come to power in a coup d’état himself-and collective ownership of the means of production. Hence, his enduring popularity among a small segment of western-educated Marxists. Unlike another African ally of Che, whose successful revolution was effaced by subsequent events.

DSCN3438_1608

As obscure as the  former Communist president of Burkina Faso might seem, the Cuban Five-now the Cuban Four-are probably even less well known to those who aren’t aware of the extensive and capable intelligence network run by the Cuban government within the United States.

DSCN3411_1584

Although most Americans are oblivious to their existence, these spies serve as a potent rallying cry for the Castro regime, as well as a cause célèbre for the anti-American left. Some of you will remember the same type of literature and agitprop at previous demonstrations documented by this website.

DSCN3486_1647

Therefore, I was pleasantly surprised by the dedicated group of enthusiastic members of NY ICE I spotted from across the street.

DSCN3491_1648

Despite the balmy weather, these people are no sunshine patriots, but stalwart defenders of the Constitutional values upon which this country has thrived. They are in the streets, online, and on the phones pleading the case of ordinary Americans, year after year, regardless of the adverse political climate,  antipathy of the news media, or gamed lobbying structure of Capitol Hill.

DSCN3522_1670

Because they are aware of how much our government’s indulgence of illegal immigration has cost us in the past, and how much it will cost future generations of Americans if we don’t address this issue.

DSCN3534_1675

With real, substantive solutions, not the regurgitation of false rhetoric and the promise of deterrent measures which will never be implemented if and when the ultimate goal of immigration reform advocates, i.e. amnesty, is achieved.

DSCN3523_1671

If we’re going to look at adjusting our nation’s immigration policies, a good place to start would be with the words of our nation’s founding fathers, who remain a much better guidepost to wise decision-making than their dismal successors. If we really want to honor the labor of working Americans, we should start by rejecting plans that

Most of you will recall the outrageous assault upon NY ICE activists during May Day, an attack which was extensively documented by this website. Well, I’m pleased to report that the violent, pusillanimous open borders demagogues who tried to silence the voice of this great organization have not succeeded. I’ll let Joanna Marzullo tell the rest of the story.

Hi NY ICers!

As most of you know, our old NY ICE Banner was destroyed by the adversary during our May Day counter-demonstration.  Most of you have seen the videos, but if you haven’t they are up on our new NY ICE website

We have a new NY ICE banner due, in no small part, to donations made all over the country  for our new, bigger, stronger banner!

However, Joanna Marzullo, President of NY ICE, has some news about the campaign of Congresswoman Michele Bachmann which her supporters might want to know. Details after the jump.

Hi NY ICers,

Thank you to all of the NY ICers who called up Michele B.’s Campaign. After my last list email about Michele B. asking for the membership’s help, they finally got back to me.

She has a new campaign manager, which I think was definitely necessary, considering the previous lack of communication that was going on between her campaign and many of her supporters. Her new campaign manager is Keith N., and I have spoken to him. She also has a volunteer grassroots organizer, Steven H., and I have also spoken with him.

Okay, so they both emphasized the Iowa phone banking initiative for Michele Bachmann. This is their campaign priority right now. If you want to phone bank for Michele, the Link for that is below. You can do this from any state in our nation. You definitely do not need to be in Iowa to do this. You will have to sign up via the Link below, and they give you a Script to follow.

Additionally, no matter what happens, I am trying to find out if Michele has any type of committee about illegal aliens that we can work with.

Here is the phone bank link.

Our good friend Anthony Bialy was there the last time NY ICE stood up to the angry hordes; I hope to see you all there this time around.  Here are the details:

WHAT: NY ICE Counter Protest of Illegal Alien Advocates

WHEN: THIS Sunday, December 18, 2011, at 1:30pm

WHERE: Foley Square in Manhattan.

(They plan to eventually march from Foley Square to Zuccotti Park) Bring copies of the NY ICE flyer, if you have it. Bring signs that are anti-amnesty for illegal aliens!!! Short and sweet, sound bite-driven signs written in big, bold capitalized letters work best. Bring a camera if you can. Bring prepared sound bites for the press, especially about how you will address being called part of the “1%.” (See earlier e-mail) Note: If travelling by subway, you can take to #4, 5, or 6 subway to the “Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall” stop and you will be at Foley Square.

Let’s have some fun!!!

It would appear that the remnants of Occupy Wall Street have decided to hook up with the open borders movement in order to push for more lax immigration enforcement in a state where it has almost entirely disappeared. Joanna Marzullo, President of New York ICE, has all of the details.

Hi NY ICers,

A pro-illegal alien NYC advocacy group, called “New Immigrant Community Empowerment” (get this…their acronym is “NICE”), has jumped on the bandwagon of the “99%” shape-shifting phrase we heard all-too-often during the “occupation” of Wall Street.

This “NICE” group is based in Jackson Heights, Queens, which is another NYC hotbed of illegal aliens.  And, guess what, they have NYC Councilman Daniel Dromm as one of their host committee members.  And, of course, it was the NYC Council that recently passed Intro 656, which I’ve emailed extensively about, which is meant to further erode the communication between federal ICE officials and the Corrections Department at Riker’s.

I am including the entire propaganda email below, and particularly think that the line about the “criminalization of immigrant bodies and labor by the 1%is telling.  Like I’ve said before, this whole “we are the 99% against the 1%” slogan is a shape-shifting one.  It means whatever they want it to mean. It is a slogan used to get whatever they want.  Personally, I don’t belong to the wealthiest segment of society (and I don’t automatically hate anyone because of their financial status), but I know that I, and NY ICE, will be labeled “part of the 1%” because the opposition does not like the NY ICE Mission of enforcing our own federal government’s own immigration laws.  Therefore, presto-chango, we are the 1% to them.

Whatever.  I am part of the people who want our existing immigration laws enforced and our borders effectively secured.  You can call me whatever “percentage” you like and I still will pursue my mission.

Here is the other side’s entire email:

John, a member of both NY ICE and the Republican Governors Association, went to the RGA’s annual meeting held in Orlando, Florida earlier this month. In addition to the recreational activities-which looked like a blast-he also had the chance to meet some of the nation’s governors, including two who are on the front lines of the battle to enforce the immigration laws our current administration has so woefully neglected.

Here he is with Governor Bob McDonnell, who has had a spotty record on immigration issues in the past.

Governor Martinez, who’s fought valiantly to reverse New Mexico’s reputation as a document mill for illegal aliens, was also in attendance.

As was Ohio governor John Kasich, who up to this point has been reluctant to embrace the cause of immigration enforcement.

Finally, one of the most exemplary state executives when it comes to these issues, Governor Mary Fallin. Not only has she wholeheartedly supported Jan Brewer and the people in Arizona in their fight against the Obama Justice Department, Mexico, and scads of well-paid lawyers, but she made immigration enforcement a central plank in her election platform.

Let’s hope that 2012 sees the election of many more politicians in the mold of Governor Fallin, and that their job will be made easier by a less obstructive White House which only seems interested in rewarding people who’ve broken the law.

Bachmann’s Moment http://american-rattlesnake.org/2011/12/bachmanns-moment/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2011/12/bachmanns-moment/#comments Thu, 08 Dec 2011 07:35:52 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=7134 The Bachmann campaign isn’t in the best shape these days. However, there is at least one issue on which she is perceptibly better than her opponents, as we’ve pointed out in the past. Unfortunately, her campaign staff has not responded to inquiries made by immigration enforcement activists in New York City. Joanna Marzullo, the president of NY ICE, has some good suggestions for how you might be able to get her attention which are included below the fold.

Hi NY ICers,

Presidential Candidate Michele Bachmann was in NYC over this weekend and she spoke on Fox News Sunday.  I’m including that video and a link to the transcript at the end of this e-mail.

I liked what she had to say on our issue, particularly how she called Newt out on his history of supporting amnesty and the Dream Act for illegal alien students.

I also liked it when she said that she would make English the official language of the U.S. Government (finally!).

I’ve been trying to contact her campaign for some time, to network with her on this issue, and no one is getting back to me.  Supposedly, she has a New York contingent at her  website, yet no one is responding to my e-mails.

So, I called her toll-free campaign line at 855.624.7737 and practically begged for someone to get back to me.  I know that New York will likely never support Michele, I said, but I do have connections throughout this country, including Michele’s home state of Minnesota, and Arizona.

Maybe if more of us call we can get results.  So please call 855.624.7737 ASAP and leave a comment that you are with NY ICE and support her positions against illegal aliens and would like to hear back from one of her campaign staffers.  You can leave your own contact number or NY ICE’s, which is 718.701.5947.  Let me know if you hear back.

A Lawless Council http://american-rattlesnake.org/2011/11/a-lawless-council/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2011/11/a-lawless-council/#respond Wed, 23 Nov 2011 20:55:30 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=6364

Unfortunately, Intro 656 has been signed into law by friend and ally of illegal aliens,  Michael Bloomberg. I’ll let Joanna Marzullo, of New York ICE, inform you of the disturbing details.

Hi, New York ICers. Happy Thanksgiving!

Unfortunately, it is during holidays such as this that traitorous politicians try to sneak controversial legislation past us.  They do this because they figure Americans are going to be too distracted with the holidays to get upset. Such is the case with Bloomberg, who very expectedly, and sneakily, signed Intro 656 into law yesterday.

I am including links towards the end of this email, one about Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez, who supported and voted for Intro 656 and has been arrested for his opposition to Arizona’s SB 1070.  Most recently, Ydanis was arrested in NYC’s Zuccotti Park during Occupy Wall Street.

Ydanis Rodriguez was actually found guilty by the NYC Council’s Standards and Ethics Committee for poking his own female Staffer.

I hope that sinks in:  We have a NYC  Councilman who was found guilty by our own NYC Council involved and pushing for Intro 656.  He wants a say in who among illegals at Riker’s gets released back into the NYC population.

Here is the good news and what I am “thankful” for:  Councilman Peter Vallone, who represents NYC’s District 22, and, in fact, represents Riker’s, is opposed to Intro 656.  I have been on the phone with his office, and strategizing.  I proposed that he, as Chair of their Public Safety Committee, introduce legislation that will nullify Intro 656.  Fight fire with fire…all in the name of NY’s public safety.

Because when those illegals who are released from Riker’s under Intro 656 commit further crimes, and victimize more New Yorkers, who will we blame?  The Council will be accountable!

I am also including a link below to the transcripts and entire Legislation of Intro 656.  In the hearing transcript for 11.2.11, you can read how the Council allowed Rodriguez to vote after the meeting has been adjourned! Indeed, they waited for Rodriguez to come!!  Craziness.

In the actual Legislation of Intro 656, it states:  “Nothing in this local law shall be interpreted or applied so as to create any power, duty or obligation in conflict with any federal or state law”.  Hypocrites!  The entire legislation Of Intro 656 Interferes with the federal government’s responsibility to enforce immigration law.

More about the degenerate, Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez.

Jesus Diaz Update http://american-rattlesnake.org/2011/11/jesus-diaz/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2011/11/jesus-diaz/#respond Wed, 23 Nov 2011 18:02:41 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=6154

Some of the most insightful, penetrating reporting about the travesty of justice that occurred in the case of Agent Jesus Diaz is being done by the writers and editors at WorldNetDaily. Unfortunately, much of the information that would shed light on how the case against Agent Diaz materialized is not being disclosed due to a gag order issued by Judge Alia Moses at the behest of federal prosecutors. The order is even more outrageous when you consider the misconduct and malfeasance involved in the prosecution of Agent Diaz, much of which is laid out in a blistering Jerome Corsi article also published in WND. As Corsi points out, many people will notice the parallels between this case and that involving Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, who were both prosecuted by Bush Era flunky Johnny Sutton in order to sate a misplaced sense of Mexican nationalism.

Joanna Marzullo, president of New Yorkers for Immigration Control and Enforcement, gives us an update on Agent Diaz’s case below, as well as information on how you can express your support for him and his family.

Our letters are helping imprisoned Border Patrol Agent, Jesus Diaz!  He is currently being transferred, and his wife, Diana, is keeping us informed.

PLEASE, if you haven’t already, write to Jesus Diaz at:  Jesus Diaz, PO Box 2317, Del Rio, TX 78841.

On this Thursday’s segment of The Ruthie Report, she had Andy Ramirez give us the legal update of the Jesus Diaz case.  You can listen to it at the Link below.  Ramirez appears at about the 80:00 minute mark into the segment.

To sign a petition demanding that Agent Diaz receive a full presidential pardon go to the page WorldNetDaily has established to that end.
