English, First and Foremost

One of the things that unites us as Americans is a common, shared language. In order to ensure that English continues to be the lingua franca of the United States, Representative Peter King has introduced H.R. 1307, which would repeal an executive order issued by the Clinton administration that discourages immersion in the English language while turning our nation’s federal bureaucracy into an ever more incomprehensible tower of Babel. English First is doing something to help ensure that Rep. King’s bill is enacted by Congress and has created a way for you to help out. You can find the details, which are reprinted here, on their website.

Rep. King has introduced H.R.1307, a bill that will nullify, once and for all, E.O.13166.  His bill states explicitly “that Executive Order 13166 shall have no force or effect.”  That’s why we like to work with this Congressman.  He doesn’t mince words when he writes a bill.

Repealing E.O.13166 will free up billions of educational dollars that can now be spent on providing quality education.  And what better way to unite all the people than to give them a common language with which they can begin to understand each other.

They also guide through the process, step-by-step, by which you can make your voice heard in Congress. Make sure we remain E Pluribus Unum.
