My apologies for being so late in addressing such an important subject, but the wildfires in Arizona continue to endanger the lives and property of thousands of people living in the Grand Canyon State. The latest news indicates that at least two of these fires might have been started by Mexican drug smugglers. An unfortunate byproduct of the government’s zeal to create national monuments out west is the exploitation of our nation’s most precious resources by Mexican drug cartels.
Regardless of how these fires began, the people of Arizona who are dealing with them need our help. The Red Cross has provided a great page devoted to resources that can be utilized in the relief effort, which I suggest you all check out. Despite the great progress that’s been made in containing these wildfires, the fight is far from over.
