Letitia James has served as New York City’s Public Advocate since her election in 2014. Linda Sarsour evangelizes Islam to the left as a private citizen, but she has aspirations for political office.

Let’s throw some light on their rabble-rousing accusations. Both claim to be proud Americans — patriots who are RECLAIMING America. They are saving our Constitution… from those hateful, racist Republicans. Are you buying what they are selling? Maybe not. Sadly, there are plenty of buyers.

They speak for progressives — not the average American. They speak for the Bernie-Sanders-loving collectivist left. They masquerade as patriots and the mainstream media LOVES them.

They are loved by young people. A generation is being primed to RESIST for the REVOLUTION. Danger lurks in the hearts of the Millennial/Alphabet Gens that these women court. Their audience is a generation fed a steady diet of lies, propaganda, fake news, and fake history . The youngest generation of lefties cheer and pump their fists to these women’s rhetoric. The youth are ready for CHANGE as they take to the streets.

I witness the same scenarios over and over again. The seeds of INSURRECTION are nurtured at protest after protest. I call it TREASON. Their message is fed uncritically to the masses through our media, our entertainment, and our schools. There is no competing voice of reason for American patriotism from the right for young New Yorkers.

Nothing damns them so much as their own words. Read on for their self-incriminating speeches.

First up, the words of NYC Public Advocate Letitia James, then Linda Sarsour. Both were central agitators at the July 2nd Emergency Town Hall.  From Wikipedia:

Letitia A. “Tish” James is an American lawyer, activist, and politician in the Democratic Party. She is the current and fourth New York City Public Advocate and first African American woman to hold citywide office. … Howard University School of Law. … admitted to practice law in New York state in 1989. James is the first member of the Working Families Party to win office in New York State and the first third-party member to be elected to the NYC Council since 1977.

Feb.6, 2017 : Washington Sq – Flashback “Tish” James quotes:

If you honor the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, then you have an obligation. Whenever you see a government that is lawless, you’ve got an obligation  and a duty to RESIST. RESIST. RESIST.

We’ve got an obligation and a duty to fight back… to protect the marginalized community and vulnerable community … we’ve got to protect those who they are coming after.

We’ve got to stand with them. Rise them. And let them know that THIS is the America that we love and we’ll FIGHT for it.

We are a city made great by the blood, sweat and tears of immigrants and refugees. And we will not close our borders. We will not close our shores …. [New York City] is an immigrant town and a sanctuary city and we will protect that right.

And so we’ve gotta stand up to the Federal Government. We’ve gotta stand up to bullies. We’ve gotta stand up to an administration that is “too male, too pale and too stale”.

We will not be silent in the face of this oppression, in the face of this discrimination; in the face of HATE. We will not normalize hate.

This is MY country and I will DEFEND the rights of immigrants and refugees. Mr. President, you and your Executive Orders, you have turned back progress for decades.  That puts you on notice, we will resist and we will ultimately see you in court.

I say to Donald Trump, you are NOT my President. I will resist you and stand up to you and I know there is an ARMY out there that will join me.

I need my young people to organize and organize and organize. It is up to you, to get out in the streets, to protect your colleagues, to protect your students, your neighbor and to PROTECT your COUNTRY.

June 29, 2017 — Letitia James sounds like she’s speaking to the Comintern:

Say it Loud. Say it Clear .Immigrants are welcome here. Refugees are welcome here. Grandparents are welcome here. Your entire family is welcome here.

[At] JFK airport to greet immigrants who are only seeking freedom and opportunity, we can not grow tired (or weary) now. We cannot cower now. WE cannot be fearful now.

We gotta rise up and resist with every fiber of our being […] because we are in a CONSTITUTIONAL crisis. We are at WAR with ourselves. This is not America. Our Values.

On this Independence Weekend let us rise up and DEFEND the Constitution. No Wall with separate us. No Ban will stop us.

[…]

Make sure individuals will feel welcome here. Comfort here. We will continue to embrace them.

We will continue to challenge this UN-Constitutional Ban by an illegitimate President [… ] because THIS is Democracy and THIS is what makes America great: ALL of us HERE together. (CHEERS)

I know these are very VERY troubling times. But we cannot grow weary. We cannot be afraid. Understand, we are all in this together. When they come after one group their going to come after ALL of us. So we must ALL stand together.

Say it loud say it clear that immigrants and REFUGEES are welcome here. They’re part of the HUMAN family.

This is nothing but a MUSLIM Ban. A Muslim BAN. So we need to say that MUSLIMS are Americans too and they need to be treated with respect. They need to know that the law covers them as well.

So I stand with you today. I hope to see you at the airport. As we raise our voices. As we continue to RESIST this administration [… ] and all that we stand for and all that we value.

And on the 4th — instead of going to a B-B-Q go to JFK. Instead of fireworks. Instead of taking a day off, sitting by the beach/lying in the sun: Go to JFK!  Let everyone know that we stand for something. That the Millennials — Gen C , they believe in others. That it’s not about themselves. All will work together to make this a more perfect society.

What we must do together, stand up and defend America and its values. DEFEAT Islamophobia and all those who HATE people who are different. Diversity is our strength. We gotta celebrate that. Thank you for recognizing that ALL of us are Americans.

I’m a Muslim tonight. I’m Gay tonight. I’m Latino tonight.  I’m Black tonight. We are all one. No distinction. We are all one.

Let us rise up together. Let us stand together.”(CHEERS)

Letitia was followed by the keynote advocate for insurrection, Linda Sarsour.

Sarsour, in her resignation letter from her position as executive director of the Brooklyn-based Arab American Association of New York, wrote, “We are in a critical moment as a country and I feel compelled to focus my energy on the national level and building the capacity of the progressive movement, so it is with a heavy heart that I announce that I will be leaving my post as the executive director of the Arab American Association of New York.

Linda Sarsour  is a Brooklyn native. She is oldest of seven children born to a pair of Palestinian immigrants.

Linda Sarsour quotes from Union Square — June 29th, 2017:

I feel like I’m having the same conversation like – every week. I came here to say what I say to New Yorkers, and in any platform that I have (had?)  before the elections, THIS is NOT normal.

Remind yourselves that you live in a country with a President and an administration that is NOT normal.

This ban is a Muslim refugee ban. No other way to describe it.

As a country that passed marriage equality (sends a message) nobody gets to decide who our families are.  We get to say who our family is and what constitutes a bona fide relationship. We have people whose grandparents and aunts and uncles are their primary guardians.

When we allow the federal government to tell us who our family members are, we undermine the decades of work that people  have done in this country, for us to define our families and what makes up the people that we love. (applause- cheers)

This ban impacts most directly the people who need us most – people who need critical medical care – who can die if they don’t come to this country and have access to the type of health care services we have.

This is a ban  that keeps out the refugees – the very people – impacted by war and conflict that WE are instigating and fueling with our tax payer dollars and WE tell them they can’t come find refuge in our country.

We should be ashamed that there are people living in refugee camps — victims of terrorism and violence.  And we are telling them that they do not belong here and can’t come into our country.  I say we have to stay loud and outraged every single day.

I am fueled my perpetual outrage at this administration.

Sisters and brothers, our country has done horrific things to many communities BEFORE Muslims.  We have a history of doing unthinkable things to communities … a precedent that our nation has set forth  for different elements of our society. I want you to join me – to be part of the NEVER AGAIN generation. I will not allow horrific things to happen to any community on my watch or on your watch.

So, there was NO partial victory. There was NO limitation to this ban. There was just a rejuvenation of what this administration tried to do from Muslim Ban 1, Muslim Ban 2.0 and now we’re at the Supreme Court.

AND for those who know the history of the Supreme Court, THEY DON’T ALWAYS DO THE RIGHT THING.

If we have any folks resigning from the Supreme Court anytime soon – guess what – on the record – and this may not be the most professional thing you ever heard me say, WE ARE SCREWED.

If we have resignations in the  Supreme Court at this moment – all of our issues – from marriage equality, voters rights, reproductive rights, abortion, to immigration, to this ban – are ALL going to be rolled back.

I want you to stay woke…. as our black sisters and brothers teach us :  outraged . informed. [Bold added — Editor]

[“Woke” is a slang term that is easing into the mainstream from some varieties of a dialect called African American Vernacular English. In AAVE, awake is often rendered as woke, as in, “I was sleeping, but now I’m woke.” ‘Woke‘ is increasingly used as a byword for social awareness.) …. Arggh….]

Most importantly, you gotta stay united because our opposition is trying to divide and conquer us on issues. And what we’re saying to them is that we are intellectual enough. Loving enough.  That we will not be divided based on the issues we are most passionate —-  that we care about.

We will be intersectional in our organizing and we will show up for one another cause that’s what we do as the American people. (CHEERS)

So…what am I asking you to do? Three things:

1. social media
2. phone call elected officials
3. show up – public spaces presence extremely critical must be outraged on THE STREETS .  (CHEERS )

And I will end by saying this, I am a proud American and the way that I express my patriotism is through DISSENT, because dissent is the HIGHEST form of patriotism.

SO, if you LOVE your country, you fight hard to make your country the greatest nation on earth, because right now this country has a far way of going —

Until we have health care for everyone who needs health care, women have full agency of their bodies, until we have immigration reform, until we end mass incarceration and UNTIL we become a nation that welcomes ALL immigrants in this country,  until then we are NOT the greatest nation on this earth.

So — stay strong (fist held high above her head). Stay united and stay organized.

WHAT are they fighting for. WHOSE America?

April Fools http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/04/april-fools/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/04/april-fools/#respond Wed, 19 Apr 2017 14:05:54 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=25008 April 1, 2017.  A 3 event day. It could have been a four, but that would be way too much ‘fun’. After the Health March, the April Fools Parade and my afternoon jaunt with the BLM Commies, I had no regrets for having skipped the People’s Filibuster. Moving on…

FIRST up (for me) was the Noonish March For Health, NYC.

However, it was not at Trump Tower as expected.

Nope, I found them at Fifth Avenue and 58th, in front of the Apple Store. (A location the NYPD is using more and more) just as they were leaving their pen.

They were marching  across Central Park South to Central Park West (and 61st). [Another location now preferred by the NYPD]

Had to run to catch them since this was no slow procession.

Nope. This was a FAST march past Central Park.

Once I caught up, I found a few pithy signs, but you had to be quick to read or take a picture or take a picture of them. Geez, this was one serious speed walk/march for your health.

[Slideshow below]

DSC_9890

Once at 61st, the March For Health had arranged speakers. But these speeches would surely hold no surprises.

Same ol’ Same ol’.

SO …. I headed back for the second protest, aka, “parade”. Billed as “The 32nd Annual April Fools’ Parade: “Make Russia Great Again“.

Claiming to be the largest gathering of Trump Look-a-likes. Not by a LONG shot. This was the parade …with just a smattering of Trump masks.

It was pretty lame and tame, this FOOLS’ Day Parade.

Except for the TRUMP OUT HOUSE. That was a winner. Potty humor and the cameras went wild.

DSC_9940

Oh yes, and there was an unexpected guest …. a familiar Trump supporter. With his Trump in 2020 flag held high, he greeted the “parade” as they arrived at Trump Tower.

I took a few more pictures, listened to the 2020 Trump guy respond as the April fools challenged his veracity and intelligence.

Finally the APRIL FOOLS’ “Parade” marched slowly down Fifth Ave to Washington Square; SLOWLY thanks to an awkwardly mobile outhouse.

Not expecting Washington Sq. to be much more exciting , I went inside Trump Tower, scanned and approved, for a brief respite in our NYC “White House.”

Next Stop – 2 pm. Black Lives Matter and their comrades-in-red gathered in Herald Square. Today, they demanded an END to Trump and de Blasio’s War on Black People. (Like this was a new topic of protest.)

Found the ubiquitous NYC Soc/Commie/Leftists approaching from 32nd St.

Signs held high. Purveyors of Anarchy. Promoters of Racism.

FULL of unmasked hatred for our police and ICE

(Immigration Law is BAD)

And, of course, white people. If you are Black or Brown: Resist. Insurrection.

[The video below has a few of their racist chants and one brave American who tried to talk LOGIC.]

They sure do hate Red Bill de Blasio. (More than Trump, perhaps?)

Like many Marxist-led protests this crowd was comprised of many 20-somethings. Reseeding their stock. (The guy in brown sweatshirt tried to talk sense to them.)

Smugly snookered into shilling for violence in our streets. DEAF and BLIND to all logic. ABOLISH the NYPD! Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Easter Weekend. Tax Day. Passover. It’s going to be another busy weekend. Like I said: They. Never. Stop.

City of Refuge: Open Borders Activists Rained Out http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/04/city-of-refuge-stop-the-refugee-ban-action-meets-bad-weather/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/04/city-of-refuge-stop-the-refugee-ban-action-meets-bad-weather/#respond Mon, 10 Apr 2017 06:17:57 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=24989 The original “City of Refuge : Stop the Refugee BAN 24 hour Action” planned  for March 14th had been postponed because of snow: the blizzard that didn’t.

Still, it was a lot of snow, so they rescheduled to March 28th and NOW… we had RAIN.

Cameras and rain, an even less friendly combination, but curiosity took me downtown anyway to 40 Wall St.

Day 1, March 28, 2017 (Noon-1pm) began outside a TRUMP Building at 40 Wall Street, followed by a night sleeping in a temporary “Tent City” outside historic Trinity Church.

[Trinity Church was a partner in this action]

“To bring attention to the need for more humanitarian refugee policies, Trinity is partnering with a coalition of organizations, including African Communities Together and the Interfaith Center of New York, to host a refugee action, including two marches, teach-ins, interfaith services, and an overnight “refugee tent city.”

From The Protest’s Press Release:

We are calling for an end to the refugee ban, the preservation of asylum and TPS (temporary protected status), and truly humanitarian immigration policy. We will organize 24 hours of powerful actions in solidarity with refugees. We are invoking the spirit of the Statue of Liberty and the history of New York as a City of Refuge for immigrants and refugees from around the world.”

On Day 2, March 29, 2017,  the protestors would march to Federal Plaza, past the African Burial Ground, ending at Foley Square. But, first, March 28. Noon. I arrived outside the 40 Wall st Trump Building as the protestors were stacking their rafts. Inflatable dinghies. Very orange.

Typically, the left knows how to do street theatre photo-ops, making the trip worth the inclement weather. Lots of cameras were on-hand waiting. Ready.

As the small crowd grew, there were now a few signs carried by Koreans of MinKwon amongst the umbrellas.

Rafts laid out. Photos in rafts. A banner from African Communities Together. And a steady rain that was not abating. Still, no one was leaving. Waiting patiently.

The sound system spazzing in the rain caused a brief delay and then the speakers began.

The speakers included, Cesar Vargas , New York’s First Undocumented Lawyer

After a nearly three-year wait, a five-judge panel in New York ruled this week that César Vargas — a native of Mexico and longtime New Yorker — can be admitted to practice law in the state he’s called home since he was 5, even though he remains an undocumented immigrant.

Rabbi Rachel Grant Meyer, a refugee advocate.

Nisha Agarwal, The Mayor’s Immigrant Affairs Commissioner.

 Amaha Kassa, African Communities Together.

Elizabeth Arjok, Sudanese model and actor.

Elizabeth fled South Sudan at seven years old and waited five years to be resettled in the U.S.

Their messages were clear: “Stop the attacks on illegal immigrants, Mr President. Stop ICE. Open Borders, Si. No to immigration laws. YES to Sanctuary Cities.” Nothing new here. Still, they managed to hold a decent rally in the rain.

DSC_9620

After the speeches had concluded, I headed back uptown so I didn’t walk the brief jaunt to Trinity Church – a short hop away (see picture below) – as they carried their very orange rafts to the temporary Tent City they set up outside the church.

At Trinity Church the schedule would include:

1:30pm: Opening at Trinity Church (including interfaith prayer service)

2:30-3:15pm: Teach-In: Immigration Law & Know Your Rights
3:30-4:15pm: Teach-In: Sanctuary in the Workplace
4:30-5:15pm: Teach-In: Criminalization
5:30-6:15pm: Teach-In: Foreign Policy & Migration

6:30-7:30pm: Dinner /Break
7:30-9pm: Cultural Jam
9-10pm: Torchlight Vigil
10pm: Doors of Trinity Church are closed. Camp out will begin.

Preferring rain to a ‘blizzard”, the protestors spent the night in a tent city at Trinity Church as they protested the refugee ban thoughout the night.

DAY 2 – March 29 – Foley Square.

The Sun was out. Temperature pleasant, even though the wind was a bit brisk. The protesters spent the night at Trinity Church and were now, after passing the African Burial Ground, ending their action in Foley Square (across from Federal Plaza) and still had those orange dinghies and drums (lots of African Drums).

Wednesday’s schedule – Day 2- included:

8:30-9:30am: Morning activity (leafleting, story sharing, “Call your Congressman/Congresswoman”)
9:30-10am: Closing at Trinity Church
10am-noon: The March to African Burial Ground & Federal Plaza
Noon: Closing Rally at Foley Square

Other than laying out those bright orange dinghies, this was a decidedly low impact second day protest/rally EXCEPT for some unplanned street theatre. Not organized by the protestors, seen below is  “Chairman Mao’s”, Gary Pneuff.

“Build The Wall” Gary was back and he was NOT going to leave

But now he wears a Trump hat and holds a Build the Wall sign, portable radio in hand, pacing back and forth during the speeches; chanting and singing LOUDLY (Kumbaya was his song of the day).

Crazy Gary from Staten Island
is a “professional” heckler. May Day, a.k.a Commie Day, is a favorite of Gary’s. Every year he marches through Union Square giving grief to those who support Russian/ Soviet/Lenin-style Communism. Known to hurl profanities as he aggressively promotes his love for Red Chinese Communism.

So, Gary sporting a Trump hat and carrying a Trump/Pence sign, as well as “Build the Wall“, begs the question from even the protestors on the LEFT, “WHAT is going on with Crazy Gary?”

He caused quite a bit of noise pollution for the intended speakers but the police took a tame approach to his presence. They tried to move him a few times, but he wasn’t breaking any laws, so Kumbaya droned on loudly through Foley Square. I must say, I had a bit of schadenfreude, watching the left be harassed by one of their own-Gary certainly isn’t one of ours.

As for the Refugee Action, today generated perhaps a smaller crowd. The African contingent was solid but minus the Korean faction. Rally points unchanged, the focus was still on (illegal) Immigrants. Sanctuary. Trump and Killer Cops, a.k.a. the NYPD.(Demoralizing the police being a huge campaign going on for DECADES.)

We heard a few speeches with GARY chanting and Kumbaya-ing in the background. Union shills. African immigrants. And Hawa Bah, the mother of a Muslim immigrant, Mohamed Bah. She claims he was murdered by the NYPD on September 26, 2012.

Not much if any media present. Not my problem. Nor theirs. Act like the media is there. Recruitment rather than media impact is often the goal. One day. One protest. One new recruit at a time keeps the ranks of resistance and discontent roiling. A decades-old methodology.

They. Never. Rest.

A Day With Sharia (Feminists Love Islamists) http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/03/a-day-with-sharia-feminists-love-islamists/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/03/a-day-with-sharia-feminists-love-islamists/#comments Tue, 14 Mar 2017 04:11:30 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=24851 Part 2. March 8, 2017. Noon. 59th St. and 5th avenue. Read Part 1 >>here>>

The crowd was jammed around the stage, from all sides – no elbow room, sight-lines poor. A Day Without a Woman. Obscenely popular.
Amidst a sea of red and pink, a lot of foolish women worshiping at the altar of sharia-loving feminazis like Linda Sarsour. SAD. Cameras on all sides struggling to get a shot of Sarsour, whose pursuit of public office, Brooklyn Borough President or even Mayor NYC, looks more and more probable. They worship her. The Anti-Trump Women’s Movement Teams Up With Islamist Terrorist , Linda Sarsour, Islamist apologist and activist, a supporter of sharia law. Catching her speech and recording it was high on my bucket list. Sarsour always needs to be heard, not just seen. I had a difficult time filming Sarsour, with photographers crowded so tightly at the front of the stage, but what matters is that you hear every bloody word.

The gist is, Republicans=Bad. Some men=always bad, like melanin challenged Repubs, which makes, of course, America Bad.

After a couple of other speakers, I moved on. Forgetting there was a ‘march’ on the books, I focused on the crowd. By now it had swelled from 59th to 58th and across the avenue into Grand Army Plaza.
I wound up missing phase two: THE MARCH. Around 1:30 PM the sharia compliant feminazis marched arm-in-arm to Trump International Tower. Blocking the streets were Sarsour and approximately 12 of her minions [see Womens March Team Bios ].

They staged an arrest – see womens’ march twitter feed coming from INSIDE the paddy wagon.  Hard times? Really? I think not.

(Links below to more arrest coverage)

Huff Po :  Organizers Tamika Mallory, Carmen Perez and Linda Sarsour, co-chairs of January’s Women’s March on Washington, emerged from a police precinct exhausted but optimistic, greeted by a couple dozen activists who had waited to give them food and support. Police said 13 people were arrested. Also, Women’s March co-chair “Bob” Bland.

Free Beacon

The Fader

The Daily Wire

Back to the speakers portion of the protest/rally. I heard not a critical word from Sarsour or her comrade sisters-in-arms ( like Faiza Ali ,who spoke as well) about the horrors of sharia Law.

No one mentioned the abuses within ISLAMIC countries; heaped upon women, children, homosexuals (lesbians) and trans- genders.

PLAYLIST 3 Short Videos

Excerpted transcription from one video:

Hey, New York, what’s up? […. ] I stand before you as a girl from Brooklyn and Staten Island, NY. (cheers) […] Trump does not have respect for women but he also doesn’t know the POWER of women. Despite ATTEMPTS by Trump and Republicans to diminish women, we know our value and we know that America does not function without us. (cheers) We know that this GLOBE doesn’t function without us.

Two years ago when I visited Palestine, I had a woman tell me that women will be the leaders of the revolution because we’ve (sic) half the population and we ARE half the population. (cheers)

Today I strike for every woman, who like me, couldn’t pull together enough money to afford college and had to work a 9 to 5 job and a retail job. Or went in to massive debt because they had to pay to go to college.

I strike for every incarcerated (women) out there, because women are the fastest growing population behind bars and “enough is enough”.

I strike for every woman and every family torn apart by deportation. And for every (women) [sic] that we are less than men.

I strike for trans-women who keep on being murdered on our streets and I. Have Said. ENOUGH! There is a massive resistance movement that is growing. We are a part of it. But, we need to put our bodies on…

We need to stand, to stand-up for black women. We need to stand-up for Palestinian women. We need to stand-up for Southeast Asian women. We need to stand for ALL women. (CHEERS) Because equal pay is not just equal pay for white women (I love ya’ll) But, equal pay should be equal pay for ALL of us. And we should not go to sleep knowing that we can go home and…

So I leave you with this song. [Sarsour joins singing] “Ain’t gonna let know body turn us around. Turn us around. Turn us around. Ain’t gonna let nobody turn us around. We gonna keep on a-walkin’, keep on ta-alkin’, marchin’ on to Freedom Land.” Thank you, New York.

Nope. It’s all about this country. America: Bad. America, where individualism rules. (for now) Even obscenity is OKAY. (for now) America, a country where these privileged educated women can rant, without FEAR, about their imagined enemies. Spewing their fantastical version of abuse, while ignoring the real enemy of women, children AND men- of the free world: Global Islamic Terror . The  CRICKETS were very LOUD

If only they understood and cherished the country they live in. Where their privileged daughters will have the same good life as their privileged mothers. (As long as there is no sharia law.)
The next Generation will suffer? WHY?

Communism Kills http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/03/communism-kills/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/03/communism-kills/#respond Fri, 10 Mar 2017 05:01:20 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=24826

h/t Pamela Hall

It’s a message which bears repeating. An inspired idea from the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, these billboards point out the horrific reality behind Marxism’s edifice of lies.

Whether it’s the specter of famine in Venezuela, the terror inflicted by Maoists upon innocent Indians for decades, or the Kim dynasty’s ruthless campaign to instill fear in every one of its subjects-no matter how far removed they are from North Korea itself-collectivism has sown nothing but misery and hopelessness wherever it’s been implemented.

Communism is responsible for more deaths than suicide, World War II, and all of the civil wars which took place during the 20th century. It has left a black legacy, and continues to oppress over 20% of the globe, including the more than 1 billion people living in the People’s Republic of China. A nation where the treatment of citizens like livestock didn’t end with the Cultural Revolution.

The disease of Communism persists in Cuba, where despite the regime’s purported detente with the United States, dissidents continue to be persecuted, often until they cease to exist. Let no one ever say that Communist despots and their foot soldiers weren’t thorough.

-We begin today’s rattle with an interesting story about an Indian-or Muslim, depending upon PR needs of the open borders squad-athlete who was ushered into this country by our very own Senator Chuck Schumer. Unfortunately, this gifted sportsman is also a sex offender. Perhaps this isn’t quite as bad as having an alien interning for your office who is also a registered sex offender, but it does make you question the collective wisdom of our Democratic friends in Congress. Maybe we shouldn’t be taking their advice, vis-a-vis, controversial immigration decisions made by the Executive branch.

-In a reminder that there are actually rational people living in The People’s Republic of Vermont, the voters of Rutland have just turned out their incumbent mayor, Chris Louras, after he attempted to deluge their town with Muslim refugees from Syria and Iraq. While ignoring the public’s deep discontent with our government’s refugee resettlement programs-when not imputing racism and bigotry to Americans who express reservations about these schemes-is the norm, even the alternative weekly was forced to concede the enormous political consequences of this decision.

-For those of you who were wondering whatever happened to the thousands of unaccompanied minors who were allowed to enter into this country, wonder no more. According to an in-depth backgrounder from the Center for Immigration Studies, our government has absolutely no clue what it’s doing. While over 80 percent of their sponsors are illegal aliens, 44 percent of the UACs in question were ordered deported. Have the vast majority of these children been deported? Of course not, silly!

-You may ask yourself, “Why is this important?” It’s a good question. After all, it’s not as if these individuals will bring brutal Central American inter-gang warfare to the placidity of our nation’s suburbs, right? Well, I have some bad news for you on that score. It turns out that Latin American gangs, including MS-13, one of the most prolific and ruthless criminal networks in the Western Hemisphere, has actually established a pretty firm beachhead in our own backyard. Naturally, almost all of these gangbangers are criminal aliens. In an ironic twist, the moniker of the man who made an abortive attempt to unify the Mara Salvatrucha within the United States is, you guessed it, Dreamer.

-For those of you who think Europe’s approach to immigration is any less self-defeating and preposterous than the United States, I give you France. A nation where municipal authorities in Calais are attempting to prevent thousands of migrants from recreating the notorious refugee camp known as The Jungle. The biggest proponents of turning The Camp of the Saints into reality are, of course, other Europeans who believe Western civilization is uniquely evil. The ostensible plight of migrants from the third world is simply a cudgel with which the Gramscian left-with the help of corporate bean counters-can beat native Europeans into submission.

-After all, what are a few dozen, or a few hundred, honor killings in the grand scheme of things? Is the systemic dehumanization and murder of girls in nations which were responsible for the idea of religious toleration and freedom of conscience too high a price to pay for erecting the beautiful mosaic? When bad whites are saying intemperate, obnoxious things about people who are off-white, doesn’t that negate their entire philosophical worldview?  Even if that perspective is confirmed multiple times every single day?

-Everyone knows that the real reason millions of Muslims across the world support ISIS, Al Qaeda, and similar jihadist networks is because there isn’t enough inclusion in Hollywood casting decisions. See, the real villain isn’t Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. It’s those bastards who refused to green light an all-Muslim reboot of Star Trek!

-The cognitive dissonance at work in the mind of an an open borders leftist must be overpowering. They want to live in a high-trust, quasi-collectivist techno-utopia-along the lines of something created by Gene Roddenberry-yet simultaneously support policies which make this already far-fetched goal virtually impossible. The mentality of a social justice warrior in high dudgeon can be found in this VICE piece, which laments the role homeless shelters have been playing in the deportation of migrants. The traditional liberal concern for the working class and the poor is discarded when it conflicts with the categorical imperative, i.e. preserving diversity. The spiritual hollowness and intellectual vapidity of this type of leftist ‘thinking’ was brilliantly and caustically skewered by George Orwell nearly a century ago. It’s good to know that some things haven’t changed all that much.

-I’d like to leave you on a good note, so here’s some refreshing news to come out of Austria. 8 Iraqi men have been convicted of the gang rape of a tourist. Unlike the Middle Eastern cab driver in Halifax who was, to all intents and purposes, high-fived by a Nova Scotia judge for raping an unconscious passenger, these rapists were actually given (relatively) stiff prison sentences. What’s more, we’ve discovered that these horrific incidents actually constitute an anomaly within the Islamic immigrant community.

Migrants and refugees from other countries expressed concern that the crime will make Austrians hostile toward all newcomers.

“Eight people raping a woman — that’s honor-less! Such a thing doesn’t exist in our religion,” Burhan Akbas, a migrant from Turkey, said.

“When such people come here and screw up like that, then everybody will think that Chechens, Afghans, all refugees from war areas are all the same,” Mansur Salamou, an asylum-seeker from Chechnya, said. “But it’s not like that. For example, the majority of us — we also cause problems, commit crimes. But no rape! Only criminal assaults and robberies.”

See, Europeans?! You only have to worry about being assaulted and robbed by the millions of North African and Middle Eastern refugees and migrants making their way towards Europe. What a relief.

America’s Snake (Rattlesnake Reads) http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/03/americas-snake/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/03/americas-snake/#comments Sun, 05 Mar 2017 21:34:29 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=24173 Crotalus horridus Author: Tim Vickers

One of the most misunderstood creatures in this country is crotalus, a genus of venomous pit vipers most people simply call rattlesnakes. Crotalus horridus, also known as the timber rattlesnake or canebrake snake, epitomizes the deeply ambivalent relationship Americans have with this animal, which Benjamin Franklin considered a symbol of our nascent country-and which remains a symbol of freedom and defiance of unjust government-yet has been hunted to extinction or near-extinction throughout New England.

The fear and loathing with which most Americans view rattlesnakes is illustrated most vividly by events like the Sweetwater Rattlesnake Roundup, wherein thousands of rattlesnakes are captured, killed, and skinned-often in gruesome ways-as a means of promoting local tourism. This deep revulsion is exhibited towards an animal that in normal circumstances does not threaten or harm humans, who are rarely-if ever-killed when an encounter does occur. It should be noted that some of these fatalities include people who wantonly abuse snakes.

With this sort of deep misunderstanding and distrust, Ted Levin’s insightful book, America’s Snake: The Rise And Fall Of The Timber Rattlesnake, is such a welcome resource. It not only debunks some common misconceptions about this increasingly threatened species, it explores why timber rattlesnakes were able to inhabit Maine, Long Island, and even New York City, although you’ll no longer find any dens-or rattlesnakes-in these places. One of the proximate causes of the rattlesnake’s decline in the Northeast, and a key part of the puzzle Levin hopes to unlock in his book, is Ophidiomyces ophiodilcola, a fungus which can prove fatal if a snake is not rehabilitated.

Although Ophidiomyces is the immediate villain, as Levin’s story unfolds the reader realizes that the greatest threat to the survival of the timber rattlesnake in the northeast is the increasing encroachment of humans upon this species’ habitat. The disruption of the mating process through development-particularly roads which cut between snake dens-the rapacious poaching, especially of gravid females, and general indifference of society towards the welfare of this fascinating animal all imperil its continued survival in this region.

To get a better idea of what this book is about, and learn why you should be concerned about its future, I would recommend watching this video of a talk delivered by Ted Levin last year. It might give you a new perspective on a quintessentially American reptile.

The War On Cops (Stringham vs. Mac Donald) http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/02/the-war-on-cops-stringham-and-mac-donald-debate/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/02/the-war-on-cops-stringham-and-mac-donald-debate/#respond Mon, 27 Feb 2017 22:33:33 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=24615 17 - 1

Watching the debate between Heather Mac Donald and Edward Stringham was a fascinating experience for a number of reasons, foremost among them being that it presented two deeply contrasting visions of right wing thought. The former shaped by a deep reverence for social cohesion and ordered liberty, while the latter is influenced by a deeply-held anti-authoritarianism and faith in an unencumbered free market. The point of dispute was criminal justice reform, which was framed by the debate resolution, “There’s a war on cops, and it’s making us less safe.” Mac Donald, naturally, responded in the affirmative, asserting that the most horrific outbursts of violence directed against law enforcement, e.g. last year’s sniper attacks against Dallas police officers, as well as the 2014 ambush of NYPD officers, were a direct result of a deliberate campaign to demonize law enforcement by public officials and political activists. Stringham rejected that claim, asserting that civilians are at much more risk of being killed by police officers than vice versa.

Both perspectives were bolstered by statistics, although Mac Donald also emphasized the human cost of what she perceives to be a lack of faith in the police, including some horrific anecdotes from Chiraq. Stringham decried her “appeal to emotion,” and expressed his belief that his debate opponent doesn’t understand basic statistics, repeatedly hammering home the fact that we are experiencing historically low rates of violent crime and gun crime. He described how data fluctuates, which means you can’t ‘make inferences based on 2 data points,’ i.e. the national and local spikes in violent crime we witnessed in 2015. He asked Mac Donald why it took so long for homicides to increase in New York City, despite a 5 year-long decrease in the number of stops under its stop-and-frisk program-reaching a low of 22,929 in 2015-and why crime in almost every other measurable category continued to decline.

Mac Donald was asked whether her role was to serve as an advocate for the criminal justice system, to which she responded, “no, it’s to combat false narratives.” One of those misleading narratives-and it was this ground upon which I think she was on her firmest footing-is the Black Lives Matter campaign to convince ordinary people that black people are subjected to uniquely unfair treatment at the hands of systemically racist law enforcement. As she pointed out, whites are shot disproportionately during violent encounters with police-she didn’t mention Native Americans, who are killed at a per capita rate exceeding every other ethnic group in this country-when you consider the paltry rate at which they commit violent crime in comparison to other races. Even so, the public knows virtually none of their names, even those who are killed at point blank range, like the late David Kassick. By contrast, black civilians who are killed unjustly at the hands of police are the subject of critically acclaimed films, not to mention being the inspiration for conflagrations which engulf entire cities.

Although Stringham maintained that the racial component of this debate was irrelevant, while asserting that police should not be taxing citizens under the color of law-as many claim was the case in Ferguson, Missouri-his opponent insisted upon pointing out the inherent racial disparities of an purportedly underpoliced society, e.g. blacks dying at a rate 6 times that of whites, as well as the 4,300 people shot in the city of Chicago last year. For what it’s worth, I wish he had acknowledged this aspect of the debate, i.e. that many Americans, whether they’re residents of the Ingersoll or Marlboro Houses, or Camden, New Jersey, live in a very violent and insecure world, even as Americans are generally safer than they have been in generations. A belief that there is a divide along racial lines is perfectly consonant with an opposition to needlessly intrusive, aggressive policing. In fact, the solution to this problem might have been alluded to by an audience member, who asked whether more shall-issue laws might be responsible for a decrease in violent crime.

Stringham also pointed out the efficacy of private police forces, which-unlike law enforcement under our current system-are directly accountable to the public. Unlike cops in the public sector, who often view themselves as fee collectors/enforcers for the state-police within a consensual system actually have incentives to serve their customers, i.e. the public, and not to abuse their authority. Although Mac Donald expressed qualified skepticism about this arrangement, it’s worth noting that there were once entire societies which operated largely within the parameters of private law. Whether or not this is an applicable model in the case of the United States is an open question, although it’s a question which deserves to be asked. After all, if the exorbitant black crime rate is entwined with the familial and social breakdown in black communities, then who is to say that increasingly aggressive policing is the long term solution to this problem?

Meet The New Boss http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/02/meet-the-new-boss-2/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/02/meet-the-new-boss-2/#respond Sun, 26 Feb 2017 06:12:18 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=24642 Perez_photo2

Update: Matt Bruenig explains what happened this weekend.

Michael Tracey raises an interesting question

Keith Ellison’s loss is noteworthy for a number of reasons, many of them unrelated to the fact that his victorious opponent will be the first self-identifying Hispanic to preside over the Democratic National Committee. Yes, ethnicity/race did play a pivotal role in this intra-party election, but not in the way that the mainstream media and Democratic shills would have you believe. Perez’s victory is not so much a case of Democrats implicitly rebuking President Trump and his purportedly anti-latino immigration policies as Barack Obama’s man on the inside once again stepping on the Bernie Bros.

The party hatchet-man who did so much to pave the way for Hillary Clinton’s disastrous candidacy, crafting the message which social justice warriors and feminists gleefully vomited at Bernie Sanders and his backers in the Democratic primary, is now in a position to run the Democratic Party. The former President who has done so much to divide his own party, which continues to be riven by the parallel political institutions he created, now has his own Machiavelli steering the course of the DNC.

This is not only a ratification of the open borders, corporatist, elitist vision which animated the Hillary Clinton campaign-progressives be damned-it is yet another slap in the face of African-Americans, i.e. the foundation of the contemporary Democratic Party. How do woke individuals continue to reconcile their support for Barack Obama with the concrete policies and decisions made by a man who, beyond empty gestural politics, has done absolutely nothing for the black community? To the contrary, the legacy of the 44th President is one of neglect and indifference towards the people most responsible for helping him make history.

We have just witnessed an elite cross-section of Democrats from around the country reject someone who is literally a black Muslim in favor of a Brown alum who’s whiter than Steve Bannon, and whose campaign manager would fit in perfectly at a Huffington Post editorial meeting. Don’t expect national Democrats to curtail their moral preening and sanctimony as we enter the Perez  Era. Just as we’re forced to endure lectures attacking this country from a smarmy talking head for The Reconquista whose fame and fortune were given to him by Americans, we will now experience four years of privileged leftists telling us why white people need to check their privilege. Apparently, the new head of the Dems seems to agree that white people are entitled to fewer rights based upon their skin color.

I can’t wait until 2020.

Cyrus Vance Talks Sanctuary Cities http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/02/cyrus-vance-talks-sanctuary-cities/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/02/cyrus-vance-talks-sanctuary-cities/#comments Thu, 23 Feb 2017 18:16:44 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=24589 17 - 1

The man you see (indistinctly) in the photo above is Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., who spoke before a packed crowd at the Women’s National Republican Club last night on a variety of subjects. Although the invitation I responded to billed the evening as a discussion of sanctuary cities, Vance did not address the topic until prompted by an audience member during the question and answer session, approximately 40 minutes or so after he began speaking.

I can’t say I was surprised by his reluctance to address the subject, despite its topicality. The New York County District Attorney’s office is charged with the prosecution of those who violate the laws of New York State. Those who violate federal law are prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York-a point Mr. Vance emphasized when I pressed him on a recent decision to release a violent, self-declared member of MS-13 who was in this country illegally from prison.

That said, his office does occasionally come into contact with illegal immigrants through their encounters with the New York Police Department, which he implicitly acknowledged when he spoke of protecting the status of those who had been victims of crimes while residing in this country illegally. Putting aside the circular logic of this argument, i.e. aren’t predatory criminal aliens, such as the illegal day laborer who murdered acclaimed actress and director Adrienne Shelly, protected under the same umbrella sheltering domestic abuse victims, there is another objection to be raised. Namely, there is already a federal program, known as the U Visa, which ostensibly protects these individuals.

The idea that New York City needs to codify policy which directly conflicts with federal law in order to protect the safety of those in this country illegally is the height of absurdity. To the contrary, these directives actually imperil the lives and safety of those they ostensibly seek to protect-as well as the lives of American citizens-as those criminal aliens who abuse and terrorize their partners and children are given blanket immunity for crimes which would otherwise place them in the deportation pipeline and out of the reach of those whose lives they have destroyed. In fact, after Mr. Vance’s talk had concluded, a (legal) immigrant shared a personal anecdote with me about a hairdresser whose husband had attempted to suffocate her to death, but was allowed to remain in this country-illegally, naturally-even after being brought to the attention of the relevant authorities.

It should be said in Mr. Vance’s defense that he stated categorically that illegal aliens who had committed violent crimes should be deported, which is a far cry from Mayor De Blasio’s stance. However, it’s worth noting that the Manhattan DA is a political post, which is dependent upon the will of the voters, which in this case happened to be a group of New York Republicans. Just as his avowal of support for stop and frisk might have been downplayed before more progressive venues, it’s possible that he might have temporized even more on this subject if speaking to a group like the National Council of La Raza, or the Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic & Asian Legislative Caucus.

Overall, the audience was surprisingly receptive to DA Vance’s message, which in retrospect probably shouldn’t have been that surprising. The Republican Party of New York City, but particularly the desiccated husk of a party which still exists in Manhattan, is run primarily by the Rockefeller and Lindsay Republicans who once exercised real power in this city and state. Adele Malpass, who delivered some introductory remarks before Cyrus Vance stepped up to the podium, praised the District Attorney’s efforts to kill a bill which would have prevented the arrest of innocent New Yorkers carrying gravity knives. I’m sure the GOP mainstay who asked him later in the evening what he was doing to crack down on gun dealers appreciated this bold stance against individual rights, but I was left rather unimpressed.

For what it’s worth, I thought the event was worthwhile, despite my many disagreements with Mr. Vance, including his apparent belief that compulsory voting, along the lines of Australia, could serve as a civic inducement. Having a public official willing to submit himself to cross-examination, however circumscribed, by the public is increasingly rare and worthy of praise. Hopefully, the officials responsible for some of the problems we encounter in this city on a daily basis will embrace this willingness to engage the public, but I won’t be holding my breath.
