You have to hand it to the morally obtuse, self-satisfied editors working at the Old Gray Lady. They may willfully distort the views and defame the character of people who hold perfectly reasonable positions on immigration policy, but at least they provide a forum for a brief rebuttal-at least, if you happen to be the chairman of an important subcommittee in the U.S. Senate.
