The latest installment of Seavey/Perry takes on a welter of important, controversial topics, including the new, live-action gloss on the Disney classic Sleeping Beauty-based upon a treasured Brothers Grimm fairytale. The star of the film is already causing howls of protest from fanatical Chinese nationalists/CCP members who can’t come to grips with the fact that Taiwan is an independent republic. For what it’s worth, Ang Lee is my favorite director, even among those born neither in the PRC nor the Republic of China.
