Those of you who are dedicated readers are undoubtedly familiar with the work of David North, a fellow for the Center for Immigration Studies and long-time policy analyst who has conducted numerous studies which meticulously delineate the fundamental problems that lie at the heart of post-1965 national immigration policy. Many of you may remember his eloquent overview of American immigration law delivered before the Penn Club last year, which provided concrete examples of how an attempt to diversify immigration pools had, paradoxically, led to the institution of a system that overwhelmingly favored primarily Latin American immigration. 

The Center for Immigration Studies has once again provided us with an invaluable resource by conducting a multi-part interview of Mr. North, which you can view in its entirety on its website. It is a must-see for anyone interested in understanding why our federal immigration policy is so misguided, and how it got that way.

July 25, 2013 NY ICE (New Yorkers for Immigration Control and Enforcement) conducted outreach outside of the Staten Island Ferry in New York City.

NY ICE is the only activist organization in this state devoted to having our existing immigration laws enforced.

NY ICE wants Staten Island politicians who have spoken against illegal alien amnesty to remain opposed to illegal alien trespassers. Illegal alien trespassers are not immigrants, and are certainly not legal New York voters. There is a process to coming to this country as a legal immigrant, a process that illegal aliens circumvent when they trespass across our borders illegally or overstay their visas illegally.

NY ICE wants our politicians to show some backbone, and stand firmly against the intimidation tactics of the other side. New York’s legal voters are taking notice.

Tell Washington D.C. that you are tired of having your interests ignored in order to curry favor with heavily bankrolled ethnic grievance groups and corporatist lobbyists. Remind Congress who it represents!

Today marks the 257th anniversary of the day when the Declaration of Independence was finalized and officially published. On a day when we celebrate the founding of a unique experiment in self-governance, it’s only appropriate that we examine how far we have strayed from the ideals that animated our unique republic’s founding. From the unconstitutional and arbitrary edicts issued by the White House, to the administrative state’s wanton endangerment of American lives, our government increasingly represents no interests other than those of a small, self-interested elite.

Which is why I urge to participate in an experiment that has proven effective in previous campaigns to thwart amnesty. Bricks for the Border is a playful way of emphasizing a deadly serious issue. Namely, the irresponsibility of an administration that refuses to fund a virtual fence, let alone construct a real barrier along our southern border, and a Congress that prefers political window-dressing to border security. Contrary to popular open borders mythology, walls do work, which is why they are so popular in countries with extensive, porous borders.

Let’s hold politicians accountable for the contempt they’ve displayed towards the American people, and let them know how we feel about their abdication of responsibility.

The one thing that we can be certain of-regardless of the outcome of the U.S. Senate’s deliberations on the Gang of Eight amnesty-is that Americans will continue to die at the hands of illegal aliens who have been given sanctuary by municipal, state, and federal authorities in one shape or form. New York ICE has dedicated a portion of its website to memorializing the lives of those individuals who have fallen victim to our government’s negligence and ingratitude towards the citizens it is sworn to protect and defend.

Contrary to media portrayals, the true victims of our government’s policy of open borders are not the poor illegal aliens whose purported plight you see chronicled in news print and on the airwaves ubiquitously, but those who can no longer speak for themselves. You can view the memorial wall here.
