Although once known as a day of euphoric celebration in pre-Christian pagan cultures, May Day commemorations are now reserved almost exclusively for Marxist outpourings of grievance and violent riots by entrenched labor unions and disgruntled trustafarians. While I would prefer the day be dedicated to the over hundred million victims of Communism, that seems like a forlorn hope in today’s political climate.
That said, our good friends Pamela Hall and Joanna Marzullo were able to capture some of the absurdity of the May Day Morlocks-at least, those brave enough to withstand the rain-for us all. You can see some of the photos both here and here, and watch an encounter between NY ICE and its foes here. Shockingly, open borders, thuggish, crypto-Marxist bullies are not overly eager to engage in civil discourse. Who would have thought?!
]]>Tomorrow marks an annual rite of passage for open borders, Marxist demagogues. Their annual trek to Union Square to make it known how much they despise the capitalist system which provided them with their iPhone 6s and high-speed Internet hookups. Well, this year-as in years past-Joanna Marzullo and her compatriots in NY ICE will provide a much-needed counterpoint to the pro-amnesty, anti-free market imbeciles who’ve decided, without any hint of irony, to amass in a park filled with statues honoring American patriots. If you’d like to join them, and are in the New York Area, you’ll find the details below the fold.
What: NY ICE Counter-demonstration Against Open Borders Mob
When: Sunday, May 1st, 2016 at 12 Noon
Where: 14th Street and Broadway. Meet in the Southeast Triangle, across the street from Citbank.

Thank you to Joanna for providing this footage!

Update: Photos from the melee.
As most of you might have heard, this weekend saw a spate of anti-Trump rallies in both Arizona and New York City. Although the demonstrations here did not result in widespread lawbreaking and disruption, they did give you a sense of the mentality pervading open borders fanatics and socialist political activists within this country. Our good friend Pamela Hall was there to witness and record the scenes outside of Trump Tower and Columbus Circle, including a spirited counter-demonstration by NY ICE.
You can watch Part II here.
]]>NY ICE marshaled its forces against DAPA-the President’s most recent illegal executive action-in downtown Manhattan recently. You can watch footage from the event which was uploaded to Vimeo, as well as read an account of the event by Joanna Marzullo, below the fold.
5.19.15 New York, NY. The above videos are raw footage of the other side from NY ICE’s counter demonstration against DAPA.
My apologies for tackling this over a week after it occurred, but more pressing issues commanded my attention, obviously. That said, there’s much more great coverage of the May Day convocation of Marxist lunatics and open borders brigands from our friends at New York Ice, including more footage from the event uploaded to Vimeo, as well as some stunning photos of the rabble-and the steadfast NY ICE opposition-on Flickr.
You can also scroll through a fantastic photo-essay of the event posted to The Silent Majority No More, one of this site’s most trusted and valuable allies. We should all be grateful for their tireless work on behalf of rational, non-Marxist New Yorkers and patriotic Americans everywhere.

As an addendum to Andrew Cuomo’s Dream Act reversal, we’d like to once again praise the tireless efforts of NY ICE in opposition to this deeply misguided and harmful bill. You can read the thoughts of Joanna Marzullo, who I’m sure you’re all familiar with by now, on the recent items section of her organization’s website. It’s worth noting that Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez, who is responsible for similarly destructive pieces of legislation on a municipal level, vociferously supports the looting of taxpayers in order to give illegal immigrants living in this state a free ride through college. Rodriguez is a vivid illustration of the perils of third world, mass immigration.
A policy of unfettered immigration, married to ethnic polarization, state-endorsed multiculturalism and partisan voting patterns-New York City being a bastion of left Democratic ideology for a number of reasons, including the outsized strength of public sector unions-leads to Americans being governed by individuals who have no interest in protecting the rights and privileges of U.S. citizens. It leads, in fact, to the absurdity of a legislative body, in the form of the New York City Council, whose members, in Mr. Rodriguez’s case, do not even speak the English language.
If this isn’t a justifiable reason to oppose allegedly benign proposals like the Dream Act, then I don’t know what is.

This just in, courtesy of Joanna Marzullo, founder of NY ICE:
As many of you know, Obama is planning on issuing an Executive amnesty later today. This action is anticipated because the recent mid-term elections were not in his favor. Obama is showing his hand, and showing he will exceed his rights as President when what he wants goes against the will of the American people he is supposed to represent.
