This weekend was the culmination of the Conservative Political Action Conference, which is an annual event bringing together conservative activists and Republican officials from across the country. While not a central concern of this year’s CPAC, immigration and border security were addressed at length. In fact, there was even a panel of distinguished experts examining the perils of state-sponsored multiculturalism vs. assimilation. Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, an unpaid adviser to Mitt Romney, debated an open borders advocate from the Competitive Enterprise Institute on the merits of E-Verify.
