Update: Ken Blackwell explains the cultural genesis of media hatred for Senator Sessions.

Roy Beck and Numbers USA make the case for Jeff Sessions assuming the role of  Attorney General.

Sen. Sessions’ commitment to the most vulnerable members of our national community is marked by the Career Grade of A+ that he has earned on our NumbersUSA Worker-Protection Immigration Gradecards. The data in the latest National Academy of Sciences report revealed that our un-reformed immigration policies are most costly to our country’s most vulnerable citizens, disproportionately Black and Hispanic Americans. In this regard, Sen. Sessions has been their protector.

Addendum: Albert Turner Jr., the son of the man prosecuted by Senator Sessions has endorsed his nomination

Unpleasant Truths (Europe Under Siege) http://american-rattlesnake.org/2016/03/unpleasant-truths-europe-under-siege/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2016/03/unpleasant-truths-europe-under-siege/#respond Thu, 24 Mar 2016 04:00:38 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=20299

The aftermath of the jihadist assault in Brussels has been filled with familiar scenes. From the puerile and utterly beside the point reactions of locals-rightly ridiculed by Gavin McInnes when seen on the streets of Paris in the wake of the Bataclan massacre-to the predictable, almost immediate trend pieces decrying a non-existent anti-Muslim backlash, it seems as if our civilization is stuck in a loop of self-deluding myopia. If you want to understand why the attacks on Brussels occurred-and why similar massacres have occurred in the past, and will likely recur in the future, both in Europe and the United States-then the video above is a good starting point.

The Spectator has also been a surprisingly strong bulwark against the insipid, noxious conventional wisdom being churned out in ever greater quantities, even as the premises upon which it is based are shattered. I especially recommend Douglas Murray’s column, which emphasizes the disconnect between reality and the fantasy created by Islamic-friendly opinion-makers in the West. The utter inability of European governments to defeat the Islamic State on a philosophical, much less practical, level is explored in a fantastic Brendan O’Neill piece. Finally, Ed West lays out some uncomfortable truths which I’m certain those ensconced in the parallel universe of the European Union bureaucracy are sure to ignore.

The idea that Brussels will remain Brussels, or Europe remain Europe, or that the past half century of reverse colonization has done nothing to render this cliche completely meaningless-as most cliches are-needs to be forcefully rejected. We are witnessing the latest iteration of an ideology which has transformed paradise on earth into an antechamber to hell, and which will surely do the same to the source of the Enlightenment if we do nothing to challenge its precepts and confront its apologists.

No Mas http://american-rattlesnake.org/2015/12/no-mas/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2015/12/no-mas/#respond Tue, 29 Dec 2015 21:24:45 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=19908 Author: Rebecca Harms, from Wendland, Germany. 9/4/15

This must displease those at the editorial board of the paper which commissioned this poll, but facts are stubborn things. It turns out that the majority of Americans do not want to be inundated with Muslim refugees from Syria. Perhaps these respondents have noticed the way  these uninvited guests have caused previously thriving European economies/societies to implode. Or perhaps they merely distrust this administration’s ability to manage what has become an unmanageable crisis under President Obama. In either case, the country’s verdict is already in. Not that anyone in Washington is listening.

The Final GOP Debates http://american-rattlesnake.org/2015/12/the-final-gop-debates/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2015/12/the-final-gop-debates/#respond Wed, 16 Dec 2015 06:10:20 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=19866 Marco Rubio_amnesty_timeline_2-15-2013

Update: You can find Roy Beck’s thoughts on last night’s encounter here.

Of the year, that is. For those of you who weren’t able to watch the full 3 hour-long extravaganza, including the preliminary “kiddie” debate, I suggest skimming the fantastic coverage provided by Numbers USA on its Twitter account, which-as usual-got to the heart of the matter. The upshot, from what I gather, is that Marco Rubio, chief architect of the Gang of 8 mass amnesty, attempted to destroy Ted Cruz’s credibility on the immigration by pointing out Cruz’s own less than stellar record on the issue while reaffirming his universally unpopular stance.

If Senator Rubio is the future of the GOP, then I suppose there’s a reason why Mrs. Clinton is grinning. On to 2016…

Final Appeal http://american-rattlesnake.org/2015/11/final-appeal/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2015/11/final-appeal/#respond Sun, 29 Nov 2015 01:30:34 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=19775

The federal judiciary has yet to issue a definitive ruling on the legality of DAPA, however the Obama administration took one of the final steps in the appeals process this week. As Numbers USA reports, the White House has officially submitted a petition for its case to be heard before the Supreme Court, now that it has lost in the lower courts.

Although the ultimate outcome is unknowable, we happen to agree with Roy Beck. We also can’t help but note the irony of this administration using the judicial process to preserve what is a naked power play with little to no legal support.

American Lives Matter http://american-rattlesnake.org/2015/11/american-lives-matter/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2015/11/american-lives-matter/#respond Sun, 01 Nov 2015 11:38:56 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=19620 Author: Hal Goodtree of Cary, North Carolina

Finally, a dose of good news in what’s been an otherwise grim year for those of us looking for signs of sanity among this nation’s public officials. Kudos to ALIPAC, as well as other immigration enforcement and reform activists in the Tar Heel State, for pressuring North Carolinian legislators to do the right thing! It’s a rare enough occurrence in the halls of power, but virtually unheard of when it comes to the issue of immigration. Kudos to Governor McCrory and his supporters for finally standing up to the treason lobby and asserting the rights of American citizens over the pleadings of criminal aliens.

Politifact and Fiction (The Race for the White House) http://american-rattlesnake.org/2015/09/politifact-and-fiction-the-race-for-the-white-house/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2015/09/politifact-and-fiction-the-race-for-the-white-house/#respond Sat, 19 Sep 2015 04:17:43 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=19456 419px-White_House_north_and_south_sides

Even as grossly overpaid journalists focus upon the theatrics of the upcoming presidential race, barely eclipsing the work of professional Mexican Jorge Ramos, there are citizens doing yeoman’s work dissecting the actual positions of leading candidates on issues of consequence. The leading issue being, of course, unfettered and ever-expanding immigration to this country from the third world and its enablement by the current administration. The patriotic, pro-American immigration reform organization known as Numbers USA has taken the lead here, as in previous elections, and you can find a summary of its live-blog of the most recent GOP presidential debate on the Numbers USA website.

It’s certainly worth your time to peruse their analysis, which is leagues ahead of anything you’ll find on MSNBC, CNN, or the Fox News Channel.

Numbers USA, as usual, had the most insightful analysis of last night’s Republican primary debates, including a fantastic live-tweet of the evening’s undercard. Today, Roy Beck has a fascinating post mortem which you should read. Although there is no Tom Tancredo, or even Duncan Hunter, in the GOP field this time around, we should take heart that there is a sustained effort to pressure these candidates into addressing the most important domestic policy issue of our time.

Numbers USA’s live-blog of the GOP undercard is up!

To the extent that Fox’s traditionally timid-at least, so far as immigration matters are concerned-news anchors are willing to broach the subject that’s on everyone’s mind, tomorrow’s main event should be worth watching. Numbers USA has posted some pointed questions that I sincerely hope are asked of the candidates on stage to its Twitter account, which will also be live-tweeting during the debate. You can watch it live at 9 PM on the Fox News Channel Thursday.

I’ll disclose my own thoughts in the days following.

South of the Border http://american-rattlesnake.org/2015/06/south-of-the-border/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2015/06/south-of-the-border/#respond Sun, 21 Jun 2015 04:43:59 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=19101 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Usumacinta.jpg

To the surprise of very few, the Associated Press reports that over an 8 month period Mexico deported more Central Americans than the United States. Take particular note of this passage:

In most cases, Mexico holds migrants only long enough to verify their nationalities, and quickly bundles them aboard buses to take them back to their home countries.”

That is not the case in the United States, where most who claim “credible fear” can remain pending an asylum court case, as long as the Border Patrol can’t prove the person has a criminal record.

Combined with the Obama administration’s complete abandonment of worksite enforcement, the imminent resettlement of thousands of Syrian Muslim refugees, and its omnipresent threat to completely disregard the law, this latest revelation makes it perfectly clear that this White House holds American citizens in contempt and does not care about their thoughts in the slightest.

Is it any wonder that, in addition to having a Congress which is universally loathed, we have a President of staggering unpopularity? Where is Tom Tancredo when we need him?
