A golf clap for Univision’s lackwit La Raza cheerleader for inviting an immigration patriot onto his program. Watch the entire interview to get a sense of the entitled mindset Americans are facing in the battle to thwart the latest amnesty scheme.

The drive to foist  a pathway to citizenship, i.e. wholesale amnesty, upon a reluctant American public is accelerating at a meteoric rate. From the attempts by this nation’s court stenographers to neuter our language, to the efforts at manipulating public opinion, to the customary maneuvers by Congress to preclude debate of one of the most crucial issues of our time, the political-journalistic class has pulled out all the stops in order to see the crown jewel of its ideological agenda enacted.

So it should it should come as no surprise that Senator Marco Rubio will be doing the full Ginsburg this morning, as he and his fellow DREAMers in the U.S. Senate and Congress saturate bomb viewers with misinformation and self-serving propaganda. Luckily, there is at least one Sunday morning talk show which is giving a platform, however truncated, to voices that have been sorely lacking in press coverage of an issue which the mainstream media almost never fails to get wrong. I speak, of course, of This Week, which will include esteemed Senator Jeff Sessions as one of its guests. Therefore, it’s probably the only program worth watching later today if you happen to own a television set. You can find out where and when it will be broadcast by  using this map.

Working Americans http://american-rattlesnake.org/2012/05/working-americans/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2012/05/working-americans/#respond Mon, 14 May 2012 05:18:37 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=10271 Tomorrow afternoon a job fair will take place inside the Jacob Javits Center. Although routine by most standards-there have been numerous job fairs held in the Tri-State Area throughout the recession and prolonged, anemic economic recovery-one unusual aspect of the upcoming event is that it will be covered by WABC’s resident open borders advocate, liberal partisan, and basher of patriotic immigration reform, Geraldo Rivera.

Considering the rapidly diminishing prospects of American job applicants, events such as the Put America Back To Work job fair are desperately needed. It’s curious that such an event would be hosted by someone who wants  Americans to have fewer employment opportunities, and doesn’t believe the distinction between Americans and non-Americans should even exist.

That said, I urge all of you-even those of you who may be gainfully employed at present-to check it out if your schedule permits. If you want to (politely) inquire as to the apparent contradiction between Mr. Rivera’s views on immigration and his endorsement of a job fair intended specifically for the benefit of American citizens, so much the better.

All in the Family http://american-rattlesnake.org/2011/08/all-in-the-family/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2011/08/all-in-the-family/#respond Mon, 29 Aug 2011 04:05:44 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=4412

In what has become an increasingly routine occurrence, an illegal alien was arrested last week for crimes committed in Deval Patrick’s Massachusetts. The fact that someone here illegally would be detained for crashing into the car of a Massachusetts police officer is not surprising, unfortunately. What makes this particular case of criminality unique, however, is that the perp in question is Onyango Obama, the half-uncle of the President of the United States, Barack Obama. Like many illegal alien absconders,  ICE has an outstanding warrant for his arrest, and has in the past ordered him deported to Kenya.

Whether this particular Obama relative falls under  the purview of the administrative amnesty his administration is planning to implement is a question left unanswered. However, the fact that his first response, upon being arrested, was to demand a telephone call to his half-nephew in the Oval Office demonstrates the impunity with which he-and millions of other illegals-violate the law. He needn’t fear being punished, let alone being deported. And the staggering sense of entitlement felt by Onyango isn’t limited to him alone, as our previous reportage on Aunt Zeituni, another member of the extended Obama clan, makes clear.

While I would like to think that President Obama’s unstinting support for open borders, and concomitant disregard for our nation’s immigration laws, is borne out of political conviction-however misguided and destructive-the fact that so many members of his extended family benefit from this unequal application of the law smacks of nepotism. After all, were you or I detained by the police for driving under the influence, I doubt we could fall back on the excuse that we were distant relations of the President. Just like Aunt Zeituni, I doubt Uncle Onyango will be held accountable for his actions. Apparently, being illegal-or even doing things illegal while you’re illegal-really isn’t a crime.

May Day Part II: America Strikes Back http://american-rattlesnake.org/2011/05/may-day-part-ii-america-strikes-back/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2011/05/may-day-part-ii-america-strikes-back/#comments Thu, 05 May 2011 05:55:35 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=2681

Update: My good friend was also at at the May Day events and has some fantastic video footage, which you can find at The Silent Majority No More. The rest of her coverage can be found at her website as well. More video from the day’s festivities can be found on Youtube.

As promised, today I will present the conclusion to American Rattlesnake’s May Day coverage, including the robust, sustained-and to our country’s enemies, deeply irritating-counter-protest staged by this website’s editor-in-chief in collaboration with New York Ice.

As you can see by the photo above, our critics-in this case, the feral, reflexively violent antifa thugs who met us at Foley Square-were not eager to be photographed. Whether that was out of concern for being identified by NYPD officers the next time they attempt to assault a peaceful assembly of dissident voices, or out of respect for the hundreds of visitors who would be forced to look at their faces in the following days is something I’ll  let you decide.

Fortunately, there were a few “anti-fascists” who I was able to detain for a brief snapshot. This young woman, for example, evokes memories of a young Faye Dunaway, perhaps after being hit with a tire iron. An arresting image, nonetheless.

This zaftig Mexican girl below was particularly aggrieved by my unobtrusive photography that day, although I can’t for the life of me discern why. After bombarding me with some choice expletives for several minutes, she was gently escorted beyond police barricades by some NYPD officers and asked to remove her  jaunty black bandana/face-mask.

At this point, the street theater they were attempting-by ripping signs from the hands of counter-protesters, showering us with abuse, and generally acting like ignoramuses-descended into farce, as the well-fed IA began to weep like a  young child whose favorite plaything has been ripped from her arms.

Even though these photos might lead you to  believe there was a sarin or mustard gas attack upon Foley Square, the truth is that the nose-holding and face-covering is merely part of the theatrical element antifa crybabies brought to the fore during their ridiculous posturing that day. I think you can judge its effectiveness by the look on the face of the Muslim man pictured below.

As entertaining as the black-clad anarchists were, there was also much amusement to be found throughout the rally, including on stage. The African-American gentleman in the background is, ironically enough, named Clarence Thomas. Leader of the radical International Longshore & Warehouse Union-Local 10, he was joined on stage by the afternoon’s emcee, who spent the better part of two hours explaining why her organization had decided to hold two separate rallies which were both ended prematurely.

I AM ASKED WHY WE DECIDED TO HOLD TWO RALLIES, AND MY ANSWER IS…BECAUSE…!

The last declamation was followed in short order by a tangent having absolutely no bearing on the ostensible reason for staging this rally. In other words, even the people who organized this event had absolutely no clue why they were there in the first place. I wish I could say I was surprised by this revelation.

There were also some festive people in Indian, or as the politically correct stewards of speech would say “indigenous,” dress doing a rain dress which was strangely ineffective.

And of course, what illegal alien friendly event would be complete without someone spouting completely inaccurate, misleading statistics that are easily debunked?

Thankfully, on this day the masses of pro-amnesty, anti-American, revanchist reds were confronted by a group of Americans, some of them immigrants themselves, who saw the need to assert their views amidst the cacophony of stridently anti-American voices. Although initially outnumbered, we stood our ground and endured to the end, even outlasting the loud, obnoxious, but morally bankrupt forces that had tried to colonize Foley Square that afternoon.

My favorite part of the day, bar none, was when a group of hostile illegal aliens and socialists attempted to heckle us into submission but were silenced once we withdrew our driver’s licenses and photo identification. When we asked them where their papers were, accompanied by the chorus to the great 1980s Genesis tune, Illegal Alien, we were greeted with shame-faced silence and dumb stares. A small victory, it was nevertheless an  extremely gratifying moment.

Joanna Marzullo, president of New Yorkers for Immigration Control and Enforcement, expresses her point of view. You can find video coverage of her part in the counter-demonstration on Youtube.

Even in the Big Apple, there are people who stand with Arizona, as this past May Day demonstrated.

The lesson to be drawn from this event, IMO, is that no matter how outnumbered you might feel when fighting the hordes of radical, open borders crusaders, there are always people willing to stand by your side when you defend basic American values.

Terminology http://american-rattlesnake.org/2010/12/terminology/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2010/12/terminology/#respond Thu, 30 Dec 2010 07:04:28 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=1648

In yet another move that brings discredit to what should be a creditable organization, the Diversity Committee of the Society of Professional Journalists has decided that the technically accurate, descriptive term for people who are not legally permitted to remain in this country should be verboten.

The most laughable aspect of this edict is the assertion that by labeling someone an “illegal alien” a journalist or editor is assuming the role of a jurist. Merely reporting the facts turns you into an EOIR judge, evidently. Curiously, we haven’t yet seen a ruling advising reporters on the real estate beat to stop using the phrase “foreclosed homes,” or those on the crime beat to cease referring to indicted criminals as “indicted.” Perhaps that’s in the offing, although I doubt a decision that ridiculous would be made with regard to a subject that doesn’t bite into the fourth estate’s pocketbook

It looks like selective political correctness to me, but you can judge for yourselves.

Rest in Peace: Adrienne Shelly http://american-rattlesnake.org/2010/11/rest-in-peace-adrienne-shelly/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2010/11/rest-in-peace-adrienne-shelly/#respond Tue, 02 Nov 2010 03:58:57 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=1220

We’re taking a break from our election coverage in order to commemorate the anniversary of the death of a wonderfully talented independent actress, writer, and director named Adrienne Shelly. For those of you not familiar with her all-too-brief life, Adrienne Shelly, nee Levine, was a Queens native who pursued an acting career under the tutelage of independent filmmaker Hal Hartley.

Unfortunately, she achieved her greatest fame not in life, but in death. November 1st marks the day when, four years ago, Shelly was murdered in her West Village apartment by an illegal alien day laborer from Ecuador named Diego Pillco. That’s why, instead of rejoicing in her burgeoning directorial career-which culminated in the critically acclaimed comedy, Waitress-or helping his wife raise their lovely daughter, Andrew Ostroy is forced to memorialize his slain wife with a foundation in her name. He’s also bravely exposed the negligent contractors who allowed a criminal like Diego Pillco to thrive in their industry, by suing them for knowingly employing the individual who so callously took Adrienne Shelly’s life.

Thank goodness there are people like Mr. Ostroy out there, otherwise the fate of this country would look even more bleak than it does at this moment in time. In order to celebrate Adrienne’s life, I suggest you watch a moving tribute to her uploaded to Youtube several years ago.

As long as someone lives on in our memories, she’ll never truly be gone.

Political Theater http://american-rattlesnake.org/2010/10/political-theater/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2010/10/political-theater/#respond Fri, 01 Oct 2010 07:13:29 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=1046

Mark Krikorian, the indefatigable head of the Center for Immigration Studies, has a fantastic explanation of the controversy involving California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman’s former maid in yesterday’s edition of NRO’s The Corner. He makes a number of very good points, foremost among them the assertion that if Whitman had pursued any legitimate suspicions she may have had about her employee’s immigration status she would have been subjected to harassment by various federal agencies dedicated to “equal employment opportunities.” An assertion supported by numerous immigration attorneys.

This isn’t to suggest that there aren’t many substantive reasons to critique the Whitman campaign, especially its wildly inconsistent stances on immigration  and politically opportunistic pandering to Hispanic voters. However, the notion that Mrs. Whitman is some sort of flagrant scofflaw who should be immediately placed in leg irons  borders on the absurd. This does beg the question, “what about Nicky Diaz?” For a group that the open borders acolytes are continually asking to “come out of the shadows” these illegal aliens seem to have little to no reservation about holding widely-viewed, televised press conferences.

Doesn’t that strike anyone as a bit odd? Perhaps it’s just me.
