Rigidly defending the President’s precise formulations will always pose a problem for his supporters. I think even his staunchest backers will acknowledge that Donald Trump isn’t Churchillian in his eloquence. That said, nearly every time he is assailed by his pseudo-sophisticated, morally inverted critics in the culturally Marxist press, it turns out that he was correct.

The manufactured controversy surrounding his remarks about Sweden is simply the latest example of the media’s malicious lying and/or stupendous ignorance. No, President Trump wasn’t referring to a specific terrorist attack in Sweden, although there have been jihadist assaults in that nation, including suicide bombings, but rather to the degradation of that country-as well as others in Central and Northern Europe-occurring as a result of catastrophically wrongheaded immigration policies.

What happened last night, as well as many nights before in immigrant-heavy, Islam-friendly towns and cities in that country, is chaos. Rampant sex crime, tribal warfare, widespread rioting-some of which targets members of the liberal press which is so enamored of non-Swedes-and general lawlessness. In spite of the Swedish government’s refusal to acknowledge reality, censorship of hate facts, and systemic coverup of migrant rape of Swedes, the non-brainwashed know what is happening in Europe.

Despite forbidding the collection of statistics which would identify the ethnicity of those committing crimes in Sweden, we still have a very good idea of who is responsible for many of them. For example, 85% of those sentenced to at least 2 years in prison for rape by a Swedish court of appeals were foreign-born or second-generation immigrants. We have firsthand accounts from career law enforcement officers attesting to the culpability of foreign immigrants and refugees in the diverse array of problems Swedes currently face.

The idea that the state and its accomplices in the media can somehow indefinitely cover up the truth in a networked world, where we can read descriptions of what the multicultural boroughs of Europe are actually like, is the height of absurdity. The facts denied and buried by the mainstream media are at the fingertips of those who choose to obtain them. That is something that will not change any time in the near future, no matter how much our ruling class would like to suppress the truth.

With Marine Le Pen’s formal declaration, it’s fitting that we reflect upon how Europe arrived at this point. BPS vividly describes how the tyranny of the European Union-with its commitment to coercive multiculturalism, open borders, and erasure of sovereignty-has led to the popularity of Le Pen, Wilders, and the like. It’s worth watching this video in its entirety, especially for those of you who are curious where the nationalist backlash to Europe’s ruling class comes from and where it’s headed.

As most of you probably know, a federal judge has blocked portions of President Trump’s executive order pertaining to refugees from 7 Muslim majority nations. Josh Blackman has published a good summary of what this injunction accomplishes, as well as a copy of the temporary restraining order itself. According to reports, it applies to a few hundred foreigners who were either on American soil or on their way to the United States before the EO was issued. Although these individuals have temporary avoided the fate of the character portrayed by Tom Hanks in The Terminal, it’s worth noting that there are much bigger issues at stake in this debate.

The open borders know nothings have deftly exploited the ignorance of large swathes of the American public to score a public relations victory against a man whom they’ve impotently warred against for over a year. Ironically, one of the refugees Democratic partisans claimed to be rescuing was able to succinctly explain why our new President’s immigration policies were in fact pretty reasonable. Beyond the simple observation that this executive order is not a ban on Muslim refugees, we have to confront the truly bizarre notion that our current refugee resettlement policy is somehow beneficial to American citizens. While some armchair analysts on social media have made the assertion that this is not the point of refugee resettlement-a point on which we agree-others have claimed that not importing tens of thousands of Muslim refugees from abroad poses a risk of future terrorism. By this token, Japan-which has a de facto ban on Muslim immigration-should be as unlivable as Afghanistan or Pakistan. Or, at the very least, have as many terrorist attacks as Turkey.

It’s a patently absurd suggestion, yet one which is repeated without shame by open borders apologists who have no rational justification for our country’s bizarre refugee resettlement program. Just as the beliefs of Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande-two European leaders who have presided over an unprecedented spree of Muslim terror within their countries-is a laughable excuse to invite in potential security risks, so to is the misguided notion that we’re creating terrorists by not letting potential terrorists onto American soil. Nearly half of the refugees admitted to the United States, and over 30% of those admitted since the 9/11 attacks, are Muslim. To comprehend why this is such a problem you need only scroll through a week’s worth of posts on Refugee Resettlement Watch.

Leaving aside the potential for terrorism-both domestically and abroad-exploitation of the welfare system, and crime, there’s the fundamental incompatibility of cultures. As the economist Nassim Taleb has pointed out, Americans expect foreigners who come here to accept American values and customs-and at a bare minimum, not to impose their values upon us. Whether or not this is a realistic expectation is another matter, but the idea that every person coming here does so because they want to become part of American society-a notion regurgitated endlessly by open borders advocates-is simply preposterous.

Even those who don’t pose a direct threat to the health and safety of American citizens-who don’t engage in honor killings, as dozens of Muslims families in the United States do each year-hold beliefs that are fundamentally at odds with those which shaped this nation. While those views are normal in Iraq, Somalia, or Syria, they are not in the United States, and we should not attempt to normalize them-to borrow a phrase from the unhinged left. President Trump’s order, however crudely executed, was the right thing to do. Hopefully, it’s just the beginning of a completely new approach to this vital issue.

As we pointed out last year in our social media series, the neutralization of non-leftist perspectives by the gatekeepers of the world’s most popular websites is rapidly shrinking the sphere of acceptable public debate. While European countries-as well as Canada-are using the state itself to suppressing dissenting views, there is also parallel effort by these site’s owners-and in the case of Wikipedia, its users-to erase inconvenient truths. A concrete illustration of this phenomenon occurred recently, when The People’s Cube-a satirical conservative website-had its Wikipedia entry deleted.

The fact that it had received extensive national coverage over the course of its existence-on prominent blogs, from respected journalists, on terrestrial and satellite radio-that Oleg’s artwork had been displayed at dozens of protests throughout the country, was completely irrelevant to the unpaid mandarins of Wikipedia. Even the favorable discussion of The People’s Cube by Neil DeGrasse Tyson, a patron saint of drearily conventional progressives, could not spare Oleg’s site. The debate surrounding the article’s deletion-which you can read in its entirety here-is illuminating for a number of reasons, not least because of the complete refusal by leftist Wikipedians to acknowledge the existence of alternative points of view.

When confronted with the inescapable fact that these perspectives do exist, their response is to ensure that they did not have a platform on their website. This is the universal response from the left to this past year’s stunning repudiation of their political philosophy. Rather than introspection-scrutinizing how they could have been so egregiously wrong about so many things they believed to be true-their response is to create a cordon sanitaire, both online and off, around beliefs they cannot countenance. And this attempt to sanitize the entire public sphere from the virus of non-leftist thought is only beginning.

The unjustified and unjustifiable deletion of The People’s Cube created a handy pretext for the deletion of the Wikipedia article about Communists for Kerry, which anticipated Oleg’s current website. And even as Wikipedia is purging problematic content, other online titans are pursuing an agenda-at the behest of national governments-to suppress samizdat perspectives. Facebook is now helping Germans curate their newsfeed by eliminating any “fake” news which might reflect badly upon the woman who has spent the past 2 years attempting to obliterate German nationhood and culture.

This relentless assault on truth is occurring across the globe and in nearly every aspect of our culture and politics. It will only increase in intensity as the left recognizes their hold upon our civilization growing increasingly tenuous, and the decades-long march through our institutions rendered meaningless. It’s up to us to ensure that their resistance does not succeed. We can’t allow the greatest age of global communication to be controlled by high tech Stalinists.

One of the most exasperating parts of following news coverage of the latest wave of Islamic atrocities is the deliberately mendacious way these crimes against humanity are portrayed by the Fourth Estate, the Santa attack inside of an Istanbul nightclub being just the latest example of this willful deception. At least the editors of the Daily Beast had the courtesy to enclose that word in quotation marks, but people who didn’t read beyond the headline of this story would probably be under the impression that a deranged mall santa decided to go on  a bloody rampage, a la A Christmas Horror Story. No, this wasn’t a case of an otherwise non-ideological lunatic going postal, or a person cosplaying a scenario from a Batman vs. Joker film.

It was a calculated jihadist methodically mowing down Kufr and infidels-foreign tourists, but also secular Turks who enjoy living in (relative) freedom-as is prescribed in his scripture, i.e. the Koran. This terrorist was acting upon the same impulse as his fellow Turks, some of whom spent the Christmas season holding Santa Claus at gunpoint in order to express their displeasure at a religious/cultural festival which does not involve rivers of blood. When an acquaintance informed me of this massacre on New Year’s Eve, the way he described it made it seem like an utterly random outbreak of ultra-violence. This popular misconception needs to be challenged at every opportunity, because it is literally taking innocent life.

As horrifying as it is to admit that over 11,000 human beings have had their lives erased because of Islam in 2016 alone, this truth needs to be assimilated if we are to ever hope of living in anything approaching Western civilization. People need to reject the comforting delusions which have made these types of massacres more, not less, likely. We are facing a global ideology which is anti-civilization, anti-thought, and anti-humanity.

Saint Nicholas would not be allowed to live in modern-day Turkey, and if Santa Claus existed I’m almost certain he would have been quickly beheaded by one of the many Sunni terrorist groups operating within that country. 2016 should be a wakeup call to those who have been ignoring the exterminationist war being fought against crusaders and infidels. Continuing to live in ignorance is no longer an option.

One of the most frustrating aspects of the ongoing invasion of Europe is the unwillingness of those who supported this disastrous policy to admit that they were wrong. It’s not simply the men and women who ushered in his collective insanity-primarily Angela Merkel, but also the rulers of the unaccountable, unelected European Union-who refuse to accept reality, but scores of ordinary individuals that simply don’t want to admit that we are witnessing a catastrophe unfold on a continental scale. Even those far removed from the consequences of this historical mistake-perhaps especially these people-are adamant that welcoming millions of Muslim Middle Eastern and African refugees into the heart of Western civilization was a splendid idea.

I was reminded of this the other night, when an acquaintance went on an hour-long fact-free tirade celebrating the benefits of this newfound vibrant diversity. Asserting at once that the crime rate in Germany hadn’t increased as a result of these newcomers and that even if they were committing crimes, it was a small price to pay for the economic productivity they would produce. It should be noted that on other occasions, when I’ve tried to educate him about this topic-despite his seeming unwillingness to engage in civil discussion about his pet issue of open borders-he’s refused to even consider the evidence presented. Claiming that the English language reports from Germany’s most widely read, pro-refugee newspapers and journals were somehow biased against his open borders, pro-refugee ideology.

It’s not only the media regents who inveigh against “fake news” who don’t want to hear dissenting opinions or unpleasant truths. There’s a large segment of the population-particularly among libertarians-who simply filter out any information that contradicts their most cherished value, i.e. unfettered third world immigration. The inescapable truth is that this reverse colonization of Europe has led to a surge in crime, 69,000 crimes in the first 3 months of 2016 alone! Despite the fact that 90% of sex crimes committed in 2014 were not reflected in official statistics, and that government institutions have bent the law in order to cover up the link between migrants and rime, there have been scores of horrific violations of women and children throughout Central and Western Europe since the migrant crisis began. Even Politifact, the gatekeeper of acceptable opinion, was forced to admit that the crime rate among migrants increased by 79 percent in 2015.

Even these statistics, spare though they are, don’t reflect the immensity of the crisis host societies are facing. In addition to the crimes committed against Europeans, there is the intimidation and crimes visited against refugees themselves, particularly Christians, atheists, and women. Jihadists threaten non-Muslim refugees before ever attacking unsuspecting Europeans. Female refugees are raped so frequently on their journey to Europe that they have to take contraceptives before embarking, yet we are expected to believe that the sexual predators who are on those ships pose no threat to European civilization. The mental contortions required to entertain these 2 thoughts simultaneously beggars belief.

It’s time for those of you who have buried your heads in the sand up to this point to come to grips with reality. As Ayn Rand once said, “we can ignore reality, but we can’t ignore the consequences of ignoring reality.” This is something defenders of the migrant wave washing over Europe have yet to grasp.

Those barriers are designed to prevent a repeat of the massacre that occurred this week at a Christmas market in Berlin. Thankfully, the perpetrator behind that particular atrocity has been put down by a brave Italian police officer. Unfortunately, thanks to Chancellor Merkel, there are now thousands of lovely creatures from the Maghreb who would like to repeat this event throughout Europe. As Tommy Robinson has pointed out, short of a nuclear or radiological device, open borders are the most powerful weapon we can hand to our jihadist foes. In that sense, Angela Merkel and the rulers of Europe are all accomplices to mass murder.

What’s more, they are making it impossible for Europeans without a death wish to preserve their lives in a non-violent manner. Not only must they be sacrificed to the Cult of Diversity, but they must recite its incantations, otherwise they risk being thrown into a dungeon for engaging in wrong think. There is increasingly little to distinguish the legal and societal norms of third world Islamic backwaters and Western capitals, which is why the people in prison are not those who march through the streets of London braying for the imposition of a caliphate, but those who question the ability of foreign Muslims to successfully comport themselves with Western civilization. It’s why we need to invert reality and pretend that the problem isn’t the population replacement taking place in Europe, but the xenophobic right wingers who represent the true threat to European harmony.

The truth is that the extreme right is not extreme at all, but a necessary corrective to the post-war consensus which is based on unreality. The extreme right  would not exist if the sensible mandarins who controlled Europe for the past 6 decades had not made such a hash of things. They’ve not only ruined the nations they’ve inherited, accomplishing something Adolf Hitler himself could not achieve, but are now in the process of stamping out any criticism-however muted-of their ethno-masochistic, suicidal immigration policies. Instead of building walls, deporting those who should have never been invited to settle in Europe to begin with, and acknowledging that multiculturalism and Muslim repopulation of Europe has been a catastrophic mistake, European leaders are busy finding ways to suppress healthy, constructive dissent.

Like Pat Buchanan, I believe that Europeans will fight back eventually. The tragedy is that the not-so benevolent despots who rule over them have ensured that this battle will be bloodier and more protracted than anything they could have ever imagined. They’ve  made what could have been a peaceful repatriation of foreign settlers-or invaders, if you prefer that term-almost impossible, and caused their societies to be torn asunder in order to add ballast to a profoundly stupid, destructive ideology. One which was bound to fail, and will leave millions of victims in its wake.

This past month has been filled with such a glut of information that it’s no surprise some items slipped past  an already news-saturated public. Unfortunately, one event which deserves more scrutiny is the United Kingdom’s decision to enact one of the most draconian invasions of privacy and restrictions of personal liberty in recent memory. The Investigatory Powers Act has a plethora of horrible features, including but not limited to a ban on end-to-end encryption technology, the creation of a criminal offense for unlawfully accessing Internet data, and investing numerous intelligence, police, and government bureaucracies with the ability to see Internet connection records without a warrant.

While the executive branch continues to enjoy extraordinary powers, and French citizens continue to live in fear, the continental experiment in coercive multiculturalism and open borders proceeds apace.

The monsters at the European Commission continue to devise new, insidious ways of thwarting the will of the European people, the ruling class continues its efforts to imprison courageous individuals whose only crime is telling the truth, and the woman who welcomed the latest Islamic invasion of Europe continues to rule with an iron fist.

Just as the UK and America have awoken from their deep slumber, so too must Europeans arise and acknowledge the existential threat posed by the globalists currently in charge of their continent’s future. Europeans need to assert their birthright and put an end to the tyranny exercised by those who would seek the destruction of their way of life.

Today sees an extremely important referendum take place in Hungary, one of several nations in the Central European bloc committed to maintaining its traditional European character. Earlier this year, Brenda Walker wrote a fantastic summary of what’s at stake in this vote, including in her piece a transcript of the speech Prime Minister Orban delivered in defense of fundamental Enlightenment values. The primary one being, of course, the freedom to speak the truth fearlessly.

For it’s not only the character and culture of the West which is under relentless assault, but the very idea that one can speak honestly about the reverse colonization of Europe. If nations like Hungary and Poland do not stand up to the global effort to subjugate them to the rule of multiculturalism, then their people will find themselves in the same position as the English and the Germans-who now must fear midnight raids at the hands of a 21st century Stasi for merely speaking out against their nations’ destruction.

Of all the values under attack, this is the single most important-the cornerstone of the West and what distinguishes us from the replacement population the ruling class views as the New Europe. It’s no surprise that the nations once enslaved within the Iron Curtain, whose freedom was so hard-won and of so recent a vintage, would esteem it most highly and fight most tenaciously to preserve it.

Listening to BBC coverage of this referendum this weekend was absolutely sickening for anyone with even a rudimentary understanding of contemporary European history. The doublespeak required to portray patriotic Hungarians-the children and grandchildren of those who stayed behind after the Soviet vivisection of their nation-as heartless, reactionary xenophobes is simply staggering. Even as they portrayed the country as a terrible monoculture deficient in vibrant diversity-scandalized by the lack of “Islam” as a religious option on the Hungarian census-the imam interviewed by a correspondent, as well as the anchor himself, admitted that there was plenty of diversity within Hungary.

Slovaks, Germans, Bulgarians, Gypsies, Armenians, and Slovenes all call that country home, as do Greek Catholics, Roman Catholics, Calvinists and Jews. The problem is that this is not the type of diversity the powers that be desire. To them, diversity is simply a synonym for the dilution (abolition) of European and Western culture, not a word which has any inherent meaning connected to its standard definition.

This is the sort of lie that must be combated and defeated if we harbor any hope of preserving Western civilization. Hungarians have lived for too long at the mercy of larger, more powerful foreign powers. The monstrosity that is the rapidly eroding EU is simply one more authoritarian superstate intent on stripping them of their freedom. For all his many faults, Viktor Orban deserves credit for standing up in defense of his countrymen and more broadly speaking, Europe itself.
