The killer of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry has been apprehended in Mexico. Most of you will recall that his murder at the hands of a Mexican rip-crew was the event which unraveled Fast and Furious to the American public. The fact that no one in the Department of Justice was held to account for this abuse of power-or the obstruction of information related to it-illustrates the impunity with which the federal bureaucracy routinely operates.

Too many have lost their lives to our willfully negligent government. Hopefully, all of those responsible for Agent Terry’s death, as well as the deaths of hundreds of innocent Mexican citizens, will eventually be brought to justice.

A pick that threatens all the work done by Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch.

It seems like racial arsonist and world-class grifter Al Sharpton has stumbled upon the truth of the matter. The left’s opposition to Jeff Sessions is not driven by a genuine fear of how he’ll approach civil rights issues-almost all of these objections are based upon falsehoods or distortions, and the primary accusers have suspect characters, to say the least-but is based upon the realization that he’ll attend to the rank corruption which has permeated the Justice Department over the past 8 years.

Senator Sessions is not a racist, and has never been a racist. The man now being slandered by cultural Marxists and those who traffic in racial calumnies is the same person who desegregated schools and put the KKK out of business in his home state. What’s occurring now is the quintessential Borking, which makes sense when you realize that Jeff Sessions was the first Republican judicial nominee to be Borked, even before Judge Bork himself. The only problem is that this tactic no longer works, as the election of Donald Trump to the presidency illustrates.

The public can no longer be intimidated into accepting bien pensant opinion or swallowing blatant lies about patriotic, normal American citizens. They realize implicitly that the stated reasons for these attacks are untruths. They’ve watched as the Obama administration has used its remaining time to force small, peaceful towns to acquiesce to the whims of Muslims and hire non-citizens to enforce American law. They’ve seen a Department of Justice willing to collude with the husband of a presidential candidate, a former President himself, under criminal investigation. They’ve watched hundreds die in the United States and Mexico as a result of this White House’s gun trafficking to Mexican drug cartels.

Leftists should be afraid, but not for the reasons they’ve outlined in hysterical cable news jeremiads over the past week. They should be fearful because Jeff Sessions is the person entrusted to drain the swamp that the Justice Department has become under President Obama.

For those who were under the impression that the obfuscation and manipulation of the Justice Department ended with the departure of Eric Holder, I have some unpleasant news for you. Loretta Lynch, persecutor of Islamophobes, has decided to release a heavily redacted transcript of Omar Mateen’s 911 calls during his massacre at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando. The sheer idiocy of this administration’s attempts to decouple jihadist atrocities from Islam would be laughable if the consequences were not so dire. The distinction between his rational exposition of the issues at stake and the web of preposterous lies spun by this administration and its flunkies could not be any clearer.

Expanding upon yesterday’s post, it should be noted that there were several subjects covered during Michael Mukasey’s talk, particularly the question and answer session that followed, which had little to do with our government’s malfeasance in combating international and domestic Islamic terrorism. One topic of keen interest was the ongoing FBI criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private e-mail server, which continues to yield unpleasant discoveries for the presumptive Democratic nominee. The most surprising moment during the Q&A session occurred when Judge Mukasey not only vouched for the integrity of Director James Comey-who has been widely praised across the political aisle-but asserted that there would be mass resignations from career FBI officials if the result of this investigation was not an indictment of the former Secretary of State and FLOTUS.

The decision of Barack Obama to meet with Attorney General Loretta Lynch immediately upon endorsing Clinton’s candidacy does not auger well for a non-political decision in this investigation. Neither does the fact that the Obama Justice Department is marinated in corruption, and has been unable to impartially administer the law since the days of Eric Holder, Judge Mukasey’s successor at DOJ. That said, if there is a wave of principled resignations within the Department of Justice this fall, a la the Saturday Night Massacre, remember where you heard it first.

I love the title of this blog post, because it perfectly encapsulates the contempt in which this administration holds the rule of law. For those of you who haven’t been keeping track, President Obama, via royal decree, enacted an incredibly unconstitutional administrative amnesty which would have given legal immunity-as well as jobs and a slew of federal benefits-to nearly 4 million illegal aliens currently residing in this country.

After a federal judge wisely enjoined this deranged plan, the administration continued to grant work permits to these aliens-because screw separation of powers, right? 

Are you surprised by the Obama administration’s latest flagrant violation of the law? You really shouldn’t be. If this presidency had a theme song, this would be it.

For those who believed the departure of Eric Holder from the national spotlight would be put an end to troublesome questions about Fast and Furious-and the obstruction of justice and abuse of power its failure unleashed-I have some bad news for you. The trial of several members of a Mexican rip crew for the death of Agent Brian Terry has reignited the discussion over how BATF-supplied weaponry made it into the hands of vicious Mexican criminals. Naturally, the federal prosecutors of these Mexican mobsters want to suppress any questioning and evidence that implicates the criminals who worked for the Obama administration, who are the chief culprits in the death of Brian Terry-to say nothing of the hundreds of Mexicans and Central Americans who may have lost their lives as a result of this debacle.

Whether or not they succeed in their ignoble quest remains to be seen. However, justice demands that the full truth of Agent Terry’s death-including the responsibility of those sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution and protect the lives of American citizens-be  revealed. Let’s hope this case helps speed it along.

The Senate Judiciary Committee is holding an oversight hearing today exploring the Obama administration’s opportunistic and lethal negation of federal immigration enforcement. In light of recent events, it should be well worth watching. You can see it for yourself beginning at 10 AM EST on the Committee’s website.

The battle over Loretta Lynch’s nomination escalated this past week, as the clown car of racial profiteers arrived to contribute their thoughts on Republican opposition to President Obama’s would-be consigliere. It remains to be seen how much mileage Sharpton & Co. will be able to generate out of her delayed confirmation, as even milquetoast cretins like Rich Lowry have recognized the absurdity of confirming someone who has pledged not to abide by the Constitution as the chief law enforcement officer of the nation.

Although a number of feckless GOP senators have already signaled their support for Lynch, Majority Leader McConnell has decided to put the vote on hold, at least temporarily. We can only hope that in the interim, the Bush wing of the Republican Caucus will reconsider the matter. A good start would be reading the bullet points outlined by Roy Beck in an open letter to the United States Senate. The founder of Numbers USA makes a salient point with regard to the regime’s latest lawless amnesty. Namely, that it is not only unconstitutional in nature, but  ruinous to the vast pool of unemployed Americans.

I’m not sure that particular argument will be persuasive to legislators intent on disemploying Americans en masse through programs like the H-1B Visa, although it’s worth hammering home the point nonetheless. It’s also worth contacting those Republican members of the U.S. Senate who have expressed support for Lynch-or who haven’t declared their position-and reminding them of why they were elected in the first place, which probably wasn’t because voters wanted them to participate in the deconstruction of the nation’s legal and political cornerstone.

One  overlooked aspect of the current widespread conservative opposition to Loretta Lynch’s nomination is the hostility gun-owners have for a woman who, at least on policy matters, differs very little from Barack Obama’s guard dog. This antipathy has now been expressed publicly by national  gun rights organizations-including the Gun Owners of America-which have begun lobbying wavering legislators before a full vote takes place in the United States Senate. Whether this new push will be enough to derail the presumed confirmation of someone who has pledged to perpetuate the unlawful directives of this administration remains to be seen, but it has, at the very least, given a jolt to Majority Leader McConnell. Considering the supine nature of this Republican Congress, that constitutes a glimmer of hope.
