Our friend Michael Cutler once again debunks the enduring myth of a STEM shortage which can only be remedied through a surfeit of H1-B visa immigrants. He also touches upon the Camp of the Saints strategy being pursued by the Obama administration, in concert with tens of thousands of Mexicans trying to secure amnesty through their children.

Stop The Boehner-Cantor-Obama Amnesty http://american-rattlesnake.org/2014/04/17040/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2014/04/17040/#respond Sat, 19 Apr 2014 22:38:32 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=17040 This past week’s immigration theater confirm what we have been saying for years. Namely, that the House GOP leadership can’t be trusted to protect the interests of the American public, especially when they conflict with its corporate benefactors. Even as Boehner’s attack dogs from silicon valley are unleashed against his own members who dare to stand up for their constituents, his chief deputy in the House of Representatives continues to peddle the spurious line that he disagrees with Obama over immigration reform, i.e. legislative amnesty.

U.S. President Barack Obama is greeted by Speaker of the House John Boehner before delivering the 2011 State of the Union Address. Author: Pete Souza

Thankfully, as the invaluable Mickey Kaus points out, there is something you can do about this! You can find out what that is below the fold.

Who might stop it and why:

McKeon– He may not want to be remembered, in retirement, for starting a donnybrook that costs Republicans seats. His office phone number is 202 225 1956. The Armed Services Committee is 202 225 4151.

Goodlatte might defend his committee’s jurisdiction (as he did last year). Don’t count on it, though. Goodlatte’s been going along with the amnesty plans of the House leadership, expressing support for some kind of deal. His phone numbers are 202 225 5431 (his office) or 202 225 3951 (Judiciary Committee).

–McCarthy: He’s obviously scared of something, otherwise he’d have been pushing openly for amnesty instead of operating through surrogates.  Maybe he can be more scared.  His office is 202 225 2915.

Boehner:  202 225 0600 (Speaker’s office), 202 225 6205 (his regular member’s office). Boehner probably wants another term as Speaker, in which case he is susceptible to pressure not to betray his Hastert Rule pledge. But he may retire–especially if Republicans don’t regain the Senate, in which case it might make more sense to focus on …

Cantor: Cantor wants to be Speaker one day– one day soon. He would probably stop his amnesty campaign instantly if he were persuaded it would scuttle his Speakership chances by convincing a large segment of his caucus that he’s a pointless sack of ambition an unreliable conservative.  His numbers are 202 225 2815 or 202 225 4000.

Members are, as always, surprisingly sensitive to telephone calls…

Republican Voters vs. Republican Politicians http://american-rattlesnake.org/2014/03/republican-voters-vs-republican-politicians/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2014/03/republican-voters-vs-republican-politicians/#comments Sat, 22 Mar 2014 14:48:24 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=16887 Rep._Renee_Ellmers

As the White House contemplates an expansion of its constitutionally dubious administrative amnesty, it’s worth taking a look at how the treason lobby’s Republican accomplices are dealing with the public’s repudiation of their most cherished legislative priority, i.e. opening the spigot to an endless stream of cheap, imported labor. A particularly revealing exchange happened a week or so ago on the Laura Ingraham Show during an interview with faux conservative Rep. Renee Ellmers, a woman who ran for Congress under the banner of the Tea Party.

Instead of listening to the concerns expressed by her constituents on the subject of immigration reform, i.e. amnesty,  however, she has decided to throw in her lot with the one of the most lavishly-funded, dense Capitol Hill lobbying networks. Which might explain why Tamar Jacoby and her allies are rallying around the embattled congresswoman even as conservative North Carolinians seek viable alternatives to the complacent incumbent.

While the Republican Party leadership doesn’t get it, Republican voters understand the necessity of preventing the implementation of another amnesty for which the GOP will (rightly) be held culpable. An amnesty that will make the election of candidates like Renee Ellmers an impossibility in the near future, something that open borders Republicans like her don’t seem to grasp.

New Yorkers Win! http://american-rattlesnake.org/2014/03/new-yorkers-win/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2014/03/new-yorkers-win/#respond Tue, 18 Mar 2014 04:53:58 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=16897 NY ICE Banner 5-1.12 ETC 007

We don’t often have cause to celebrate the actions of the New York State Senate, but our legislators made a wise decision yesterday by rejecting the Dream Act. Congratulations to the Republican majority, as well as the two courageous Democrats who rejected what was almost certainly intense pressure to truckle to the demands of La Raza and its legislative marionettes.

Most importantly, kudos to those New Yorkers who stood up to the treason lobby and defended our state’s taxpayers from yet another scheme to extort money from their pocketbooks in order to bankroll a key Democratic constituency.  A special shout out to Joanna Marzullo and the good folks at NY ICE, who were front and center during this momentous debate, as well as at the forefront of opposing Bill de Blasio’s attempts to accredit illegal aliens living in New York City. If more citizens had their dedication and persistence, then our margin of victory would have never been this narrow.

Keep up the good work!

It turns out that the Coulter-Kaus debate was broadcast on one of  C-SPAN’s many outlets yesterday, despite the unofficial CPAC ban on discussion of the most important domestic political issue. You can watch the full debate here. In addition to covering the political costs of amnesty and the legally and constitutionally dubious nature of the Obama administration’s administrative amnesty, they also explore the Democratic and Republican presidential fields and the political and economic consequences of Obamacare, as well as entitlement reform.

Blue Collar Woes http://american-rattlesnake.org/2014/01/blue-collar-woes/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2014/01/blue-collar-woes/#respond Fri, 17 Jan 2014 07:10:43 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=16644 President Barack Obama and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie talk with local residents at the Brigantine Beach Community Center in Brigantine, N.J., Oct. 31, 2012. (Official White House Photo by Pete Souza)

Most of you are probably aware of Governor Christie’s decision to reward illegal aliens yet again by signing a statewide DREAM Act into law, although this has obviously been overshadowed in recent days by another prominent news item revolving around the governor of the Garden State. Although there’s no link between Bridgegate and the latest sop to la raza activists, the two do share some similarities in the sense that both display the contempt public officials have for ordinary citizens, as well as the venality and political opportunism at the heart of legislating-both at the state and federal level.

Mark Krikorian wrote an incisive blog entry for National Review Online earlier this month on another highly publicized victory for illegal aliens, the decision to award Dreamer Sergio Garcia a law license, which delineates the philosophical chasm between those of us who view America as a distinctive, sovereign nation and those like Governor Christie, Governor Jerry Brown, and their allies in the open borders movement, who view it merely as a place where people live-regardless of allegiance. It’s well worth reading, as is an op-ed by Bill Winkler which points out the huge human cost that legislative acts like those taken in New Jersey and California, and extraconstitutional edicts issued by the Obama administration, have on ordinary American families trying to eke out an existence in this torpid economy.

These are the stories that are being swept under the rug by a news media which is unwilling to grapple with the huge problems that their support for open borders impose upon Americans who don’t have the mobility or resources to insulate themselves from mass immigration’s most baleful effects.

Perpetuating Amnesty http://american-rattlesnake.org/2013/12/perpetuating-amnesty/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2013/12/perpetuating-amnesty/#respond Fri, 13 Dec 2013 06:20:10 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=16537 President Barack Obama bids farewell to the family of Mexican President Felipe Calderon following their meeting in Mexico City, Thursday, April 16, 2009. Author: Pete Souza, White House photographer

One thing we learned from the online ‘chat’ organized by the White House regarding its plans for immigration reform is that it will extend the constitutionally dubious program known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. Unfortunately, the Obama administration does not seem to take substantive critiques of its abuse of power very seriously, even if they come from very liberal, well-respected legal scholars.

The only path forward, therefore, is to resist the impulse on the part of Congress to enact wholesale legislative amnesty, which is still very much a threat, especially in wake of the recent budget agreement.

Hang in there, folks. It’s going to be a very bumpy ride.

Senator Jeff Sessions identifies the true motivation behind immigration reform, which isn’t as noble as Zuckerberg Inc. would like the American public to believe. Just as virtually no member of the mainstream media is crutinizing the angelic-if not wholly accurate-depiction of potential beneficiaries of any future congressional amnesty, so too are they ignoring the incentives Facebook, LinkedIn, among others, have in seeing this “reform” enacted.

In other words, same old same old.

NY ICE members attacked by open borders mob http://american-rattlesnake.org/2013/07/ny-ice-members-attacked-by-open-borders-mob/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2013/07/ny-ice-members-attacked-by-open-borders-mob/#respond Sat, 27 Jul 2013 05:01:59 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=15963 NY ICE Banner 5.12 ETC 006

You can watch video of the altercation at this link. Joanna Marzullo, president of New York ICE, describes the incident below the fold.

July 25, 2013 NY ICE (New Yorkers for Immigration Control and Enforcement) conducted outreach outside of the Staten Island Ferry in New York City.

NY ICE is the only activist organization in this state devoted to having our existing immigration laws enforced.

NY ICE wants Staten Island politicians who have spoken against illegal alien amnesty to remain opposed to illegal alien trespassers. Illegal alien trespassers are not immigrants, and are certainly not legal New York voters. There is a process to coming to this country as a legal immigrant, a process that illegal aliens circumvent when they trespass across our borders illegally or overstay their visas illegally.

NY ICE wants our politicians to show some backbone, and stand firmly against the intimidation tactics of the other side. New York’s legal voters are taking notice.

This footage will show a girl who assaults NY ICE. After defending illegal alien trespassers as if they are the victims, she decides to victimize NY ICE by assaulting us, and demonstrates her problem with freedom of speech when people are saying what she doesn’t like (aka: The Facts!)
