In response to the Supreme Court upholding President Trump’s ban on visitors from six terrorist-importing countries, New York leftists called an emergency “Town Hall”  meeting to express their outrage.

Read more about the Left’s plans to support terrorism on American soil.

After listening to a number of speakers, the march to 18th St. from Union Square commenced at 6 PM.

The Town Hall was sponsored by Linda Sarsour’s Arab American Association of New York  and Mpower Change

“Calling directly impacted communities, organizers, faith leaders, labor organizers, activists and allies for an emergency town hall to .discuss latest move by SCOTUS on the Muslim ban.

Make no mistake: the latest SCOTUS ruling is not a partial victory for affected communities. It’s still a Muslim and refugee ban and we still need to ORGANIZE. We CANNOT normalize this and forget the context in which this Administration operates: they are motivated by fear-mongering, xenophobia and Islamophobia.

This ruling is ambiguous and confusing and will create chaos once its implemented and we need to PUSH BACK. The most disproportionately impacted will be the people who need to immigrate here the most: refugees.

The Event was co-sponsored by: African Communities Together, New York Immigration Coalition, Network Against Islamophobia, CUNY CLEAR as well as MPower Change and Arab American Association of New York .”

I found them by accident at Union Square.

A tight circle of protestors and media clamoring to get pictures and video, particularly of NYC Public Advocate, Leticia James, and. Brooklyn’s Muslim activist Linda Sarsour.

Amongst the many speakers were two well-known advocates for open borders, sanctuary cities, and sharia law in America. What they have to say was predictably offensive, but well worth a listen.

First, Leticia James, NYC Public Advocate spoke. She is racist and thoroughly marxist.

The last speaker, was Linda Sarsour, the sharia-loving queen-of-the- night.

Once finished speaking, they marched a couple of blocks to SEIU Union Hall where a couple of Pro-Trump Back The Ban protestors greeted them. An anti-white troll hung with them briefly.

Of course, there was much angry shouting right back at them.  It abated briefly, and then took off again while the meeting took place upstairs.

A short slideshow of Union Square and 18th street:

The strategy directive is the familiar disruptive strategy. GET OUT. PROTEST. HIT THE AIRPORTS. Independence Day was mentioned as a day to protest. Forget the barbeques and parades. Take the day off and protest. Resist!

Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 3 PM – 9 PM West 44th st and 12th ave. New York City near the U.S.S. Intrepid. New Yorkers of the left persuasion gathered to protest President Trump’s First Visit to NYC since his inauguration. A protest that was organized by Working Families PartyRise and Resist and RefuseFascism.org

Donald Trump, the Fascist-in-Chief, is returning to New York City for the first time since the inauguration to give a speech on the Intrepid, which is essentially a museum for American military conquest.

Anyone who is concerned about the destruction of planet, the attacks on immigrants, the threats of nuclear war, the attacks on LGBTQ people, the patriarchy, and all of the other dangers posed by the Trump regime needs to come out. [twitter: @WorkingFamilies]

Protest Trump’s NYC Speech On Intrepid and Protest Trump’s 1st visit to NYC with Rise and Resist!

Donald Trump is coming to New York City for the first time since his inauguration. Join Rise and Resist this Thursday, May 4th, to show the so-called-president how unpopular and unwelcome he is in his hometown. We condemn Trump and his regime of hatred and discrimination. #NoTrumpNYC

BRING YOUR DRUMS AND NOISEMAKERS!

He should not be able to go anywhere without MASS protest, ESPECIALLY IN New York City. We are joining with Rise and Resist to make this as powerful as possible!

Managed to arrive outside the Intrepid (at 46th street) at about 3 pm, to catch the arrival of the disaffected hoards. Perfect timing.

With protest signs held high, the Cry Baby Left outside the Intrepid was represented by two groups. One assembled at 44th st and 12th ave and was more visually inclined; lots of Statues of Liberty crowns mixed with snarky signs playing eagerly to the cameras.

The other group outside the Intrepid at 47th and 12th ave was the more boisterous of the two. Snowflakes and crybabies. Temper tantrums that raged on for hours as they chanted and clanged away on their pots and pans: Power to the People! [Flicker slide show Part 1 ]

Group 1 (44th st and 12th)  and a look at their protest signs outside the Intrepid. (NY Daily News) “Hundreds of spirited protesters clogged Manhattan’s West Side Thursday to try to spoil President Trump’s homecoming with noisy chants challenging White House policy on everything from immigration to health care.” [Part 1 – video ]

Next I headed  back to 46th where banners were being displayed and draped from the pedestrian bridge. The eponymous “Dump Trump” and “Save Our Democracy”

Miscellaneous pictures of the protest, with a few signs that were stragglers hanging out at 46 st. Below, banners flown from the bridge (not allowed). The police moved them politely from the overhang so they decided to walk back and forth for awhile.

Finally, the police herded – literally – everyone from the bridge. Slowly but deftly the bridge was cleared. Here is a brief look at the Intrepid-side of 12th Ave. where a few protestors wandered amongst the dinner guests waiting outside. That, too, was brief as these protestors were herded back across the highway. [Part 2 Flickr slideshow]

Protest Trump must have banners (of course). Never let a bridge go to waste. Have banners – Will hang them (or hold them high.) Which means the Snowflakes hit the bridge for a brief while until the police said (politely) “enough, move along.” Which they did. Sort of.

One banner, Dump Trump, marched slowly back and forth (making a free speech point). THEN, the police deftly herded- literally -everyone, tourists and protestors off the bridge. Trump was due to arrive, though he actually arrived hours later. Whatever – the bridge was now CLEAR. [Part 2 – Video]

After being shepherded from the bridge, I headed across 12th ave. to the front of the Intrepid. All the attendees were still waiting outside, dressed in formal attire and waiting. That’s when I noticed the protestors gathered at 47th street. As I got closer I also HEARD them. This was the advertised Pots and Pans Brigade.

Clanging Pots Protest Trump’s Intrepid Speech. The protest signs outside the Intrepid at 47th and 12th ave were held by the more boisterous group representing the Cry Baby left. Their temper tantrum raged on for hours as they chanted and clanged away on pots and pans. (NY Daily News) “Hundreds of spirited protesters clogged Manhattan’s West Side Thursday to try to spoil President Trump’s homecoming with noisy chants challenging White House policy on everything from immigration to health care.” [ Part 3- Video ]

It was hours before The President arrived. He was delayed. No matter. The malcontents, cry babies and snowflakes hung in there. They had plenty do to with their chanting, posing for the cameras and banging on their pots and pans. No one would be allowed a respectful evening of commemoration.

NY Mag

Trump touched down at JFK (he landed around 6 p.m.) the protesters had already been gathered for hours along the West Side Highway across from the U.S.S. Intrepid, the maritime museum on the Hudson River, where Trump will attend a ceremony commemorating the 75th anniversary the World War II Battle of the Coral Sea, and later meet with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

Proud and thankful Americans were there, too. However, they arrived much later so I didn’t see them.  Picture of the patriots posted at adn.com. Supporters of President Donald Trump supporters rally outside his visit to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in Manhattan, May 4, 2017. “(Kevin Hagen/The New York Times file)”

Link from TheAustralian.com : a short gallery report on the evening inside the Intrepid.

But what the MSM was really interested was the disaffected outside the Intrepid. Their complaints and memes were the stars of the evening.

From The Gothamist

Donald Trump is paying a brief visit to New York City tonight for the first time since his inauguration, for a reception and dinner onboard the Intrepid. Protestors are now gathering near the decommissioned aircraft carrier to greet him with signs and cheers lambasting his presidency, with a special focus on today’s narrow vote in the House of Representatives to repeal Obamacare and replace it with the American Health Care Act.

As mentioned earlier, one of the organizers was a group called Rise and Resist. ABOUT RISE AND RESIST (supposedly new to the activist game):

Rise and Resist, formed in response to the 2016 US election, is a direct action group made up of both new and experienced activists committed to opposing, disrupting, and defeating any government act that threatens democracy, equality and our civil liberties. We work collaboratively, creatively, respectfully, and with all the joy we can muster for the health of the people and the planet.

This lovely “Rise and Resist” lass thinks she has NO Free Speech as she coyly tapes her mouth with: CAUTION POLICE STATE! while she is respected and protected by the NYPD.

We reject state sanctioned violence, bigotry and systemic discrimination in all its forms, including those directed at people because of their disability, gender identity/expression, immigration status, race, religion, sex and sexuality. We condemn all the oppressive policies that define the current government regime.

This is WAR and we have been warned ….

We strive to intentionally honor the complex challenges we face. Join us in fighting for justice.

The Imperial Judiciary http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/04/the-imperial-judiciary/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/04/the-imperial-judiciary/#respond Thu, 27 Apr 2017 17:08:59 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=25080

To the surprise of no one, an Obama bundler sitting on the 9th Circuit has enjoined Section 9(a) of President Trump’s executive order targeting sanctuary cities. Just like the federal judges who blocked previous, eminently Constitutional executive orders tackling this problem, this one used the non-textual statements of the President as justification for his actions. For those of you who would like a more detailed explanation of why using speeches, statements, and other non-statutory words by lawmakers and the executive branch to make law is such a bad idea, I’d recommend reading the late Justice Scalia’s A Matter Of Interpretation.

Suffice it to say, this is another political decision from the the federal judiciary. To understand just how politicized this process has become, it’s worth looking at this tweet in response to Professor Laurence Tribe. The idea that what President Trump is doing, vis-a-vis immigration, is unprecedented is an absurdity. Regardless of what you think of the The President’s public critiques of his judicial antagonists-personally, I think they’re counterproductive-his administration’s immigration policies are completely reasonable. The only reason they appear unusual to the commentariat is because they are accustomed to a President encouraging illegal immigration. The fact that open borders activists are no longer pushing against an open door has to be deflating. Almost as much as realizing that our sovereignty is in the hands of a group of far-left, open borders dogmatists who can’t be voted out of office.

April Fools http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/04/april-fools/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/04/april-fools/#respond Wed, 19 Apr 2017 14:05:54 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=25008 April 1, 2017.  A 3 event day. It could have been a four, but that would be way too much ‘fun’. After the Health March, the April Fools Parade and my afternoon jaunt with the BLM Commies, I had no regrets for having skipped the People’s Filibuster. Moving on…

FIRST up (for me) was the Noonish March For Health, NYC.

However, it was not at Trump Tower as expected.

Nope, I found them at Fifth Avenue and 58th, in front of the Apple Store. (A location the NYPD is using more and more) just as they were leaving their pen.

They were marching  across Central Park South to Central Park West (and 61st). [Another location now preferred by the NYPD]

Had to run to catch them since this was no slow procession.

Nope. This was a FAST march past Central Park.

Once I caught up, I found a few pithy signs, but you had to be quick to read or take a picture or take a picture of them. Geez, this was one serious speed walk/march for your health.

[Slideshow below]

DSC_9890

Once at 61st, the March For Health had arranged speakers. But these speeches would surely hold no surprises.

Same ol’ Same ol’.

SO …. I headed back for the second protest, aka, “parade”. Billed as “The 32nd Annual April Fools’ Parade: “Make Russia Great Again“.

Claiming to be the largest gathering of Trump Look-a-likes. Not by a LONG shot. This was the parade …with just a smattering of Trump masks.

It was pretty lame and tame, this FOOLS’ Day Parade.

Except for the TRUMP OUT HOUSE. That was a winner. Potty humor and the cameras went wild.

DSC_9940

Oh yes, and there was an unexpected guest …. a familiar Trump supporter. With his Trump in 2020 flag held high, he greeted the “parade” as they arrived at Trump Tower.

I took a few more pictures, listened to the 2020 Trump guy respond as the April fools challenged his veracity and intelligence.

Finally the APRIL FOOLS’ “Parade” marched slowly down Fifth Ave to Washington Square; SLOWLY thanks to an awkwardly mobile outhouse.

Not expecting Washington Sq. to be much more exciting , I went inside Trump Tower, scanned and approved, for a brief respite in our NYC “White House.”

Next Stop – 2 pm. Black Lives Matter and their comrades-in-red gathered in Herald Square. Today, they demanded an END to Trump and de Blasio’s War on Black People. (Like this was a new topic of protest.)

Found the ubiquitous NYC Soc/Commie/Leftists approaching from 32nd St.

Signs held high. Purveyors of Anarchy. Promoters of Racism.

FULL of unmasked hatred for our police and ICE

(Immigration Law is BAD)

And, of course, white people. If you are Black or Brown: Resist. Insurrection.

[The video below has a few of their racist chants and one brave American who tried to talk LOGIC.]

They sure do hate Red Bill de Blasio. (More than Trump, perhaps?)

Like many Marxist-led protests this crowd was comprised of many 20-somethings. Reseeding their stock. (The guy in brown sweatshirt tried to talk sense to them.)

Smugly snookered into shilling for violence in our streets. DEAF and BLIND to all logic. ABOLISH the NYPD! Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Riot In The Streets Of Berkeley http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/04/riot-in-the-streets-of-berkeley/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2017/04/riot-in-the-streets-of-berkeley/#respond Mon, 17 Apr 2017 17:58:57 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=25013

Downtown Berkeley. The Oakland – San Francisco Bay Bridge and the San Francisco downtown can be seen in the background. PowerBar headquarters are visible in Downtown Berkeley. Looking from the Berkeley Hills westward. California, US

Update: Dan Sanchez wonders: Is it good for liberty?

Apparently, the revolution will be televised. And tweeted. One of the more interesting comments in response to this article compares the idleness of Berkeley cops to a South American soccer riot that overwhelmed local police officers. Coming nearly 2 months after more destructive riots in the same city-initiated by antifa in order to prevent Milo Yiannopoulos from speaking-it’s not a hyperbolic analogy. Concerns about overly aggressive policing aside, it makes you wonder what the purpose of a police force is if it cannot prevent citizens from being assaulted in the middle of the day.

Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

A few questions which should have been answered before tonight’s missile strikes.

Politics makes for strange bedfellows

In deed, if nothing else. The Telegraph is covering the airstrikes against the Assad regime and their aftermath live. For an inkling of how complex this conflict is, I would suggest looking over this map of the Syrian Civil War, which illustrates the murky waters we are delving into as a nation. For what it’s worth, we have been militarily involved in Syria for over two and a half years, most recently attempting to separate Kurdish militias from the Turkish military. Turkey, it should be noted, is the nation asserting that the Syrian regime used sarin gas in the gruesome chemical attack which took place in Idlib province on April 4th.

Where this will lead is anyone’s guess.

This is a story about ICE agents operating in New York City. Politico has all the details. For what it’s worth, Staten Island Republicans are urging the Department of Justice to pull funding from New York City until our politicians halt its noncompliance with ICE. It seems like the brief, post-election detente between Mayor De Blasio and President Trump has drawn to a close.

President Trump’s revised executive order has been halted, once again, by a federal judiciary which doesn’t seem to understand-or to care much about-the Constitution or its prescribed role within it. You can read Josh Blackman’s instal-analysis, which hits most of the key points.

As Mark Krikorian points out, regardless of the inherent merits of the Trump policy, the decisions rubbishing it pose a unique threat to Constitutional government as we know it. Something that the late Antonin Scalia warned about repeatedly. Not surprisingly, the state which is responsible for this latest extra-constitutional ruling has accepted less than 10 refugees for resettlement in FY 2015, none of whom hail from the Middle East.

This would be amusing if the consequences weren’t so stark.
