A pick that threatens all the work done by Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch.

It seems like racial arsonist and world-class grifter Al Sharpton has stumbled upon the truth of the matter. The left’s opposition to Jeff Sessions is not driven by a genuine fear of how he’ll approach civil rights issues-almost all of these objections are based upon falsehoods or distortions, and the primary accusers have suspect characters, to say the least-but is based upon the realization that he’ll attend to the rank corruption which has permeated the Justice Department over the past 8 years.

Senator Sessions is not a racist, and has never been a racist. The man now being slandered by cultural Marxists and those who traffic in racial calumnies is the same person who desegregated schools and put the KKK out of business in his home state. What’s occurring now is the quintessential Borking, which makes sense when you realize that Jeff Sessions was the first Republican judicial nominee to be Borked, even before Judge Bork himself. The only problem is that this tactic no longer works, as the election of Donald Trump to the presidency illustrates.

The public can no longer be intimidated into accepting bien pensant opinion or swallowing blatant lies about patriotic, normal American citizens. They realize implicitly that the stated reasons for these attacks are untruths. They’ve watched as the Obama administration has used its remaining time to force small, peaceful towns to acquiesce to the whims of Muslims and hire non-citizens to enforce American law. They’ve seen a Department of Justice willing to collude with the husband of a presidential candidate, a former President himself, under criminal investigation. They’ve watched hundreds die in the United States and Mexico as a result of this White House’s gun trafficking to Mexican drug cartels.

Leftists should be afraid, but not for the reasons they’ve outlined in hysterical cable news jeremiads over the past week. They should be fearful because Jeff Sessions is the person entrusted to drain the swamp that the Justice Department has become under President Obama.

The despicable whitewashing of Hillary Clinton’s malfeasance continues to generate outrage in the unlikeliest places, including the usually ridiculous Huffington Post. The exoneration of the former Secretary of State at the hands of someone who has shown a penchant for overlooking the crimes of Clintonian public officials has raised the hackles of people across the political spectrum.

Some of these individuals have decided to make their displeasure known through protest, including an upcoming demonstration in front of the FBI office in Bedford, New Hampshire. While I can understand a reluctance to criticize an administration known for its persecution of perceived political opponents, there is also something to be said for standing up for  an important principle. Namely, equality under the law.

If there’s anyone willing to put their beliefs on the line, it’s residents of the Free State. So joint NHExit and others in calling for some accountability and honesty from a seemingly unaccountable government this Monday!

For those who were under the impression that the obfuscation and manipulation of the Justice Department ended with the departure of Eric Holder, I have some unpleasant news for you. Loretta Lynch, persecutor of Islamophobes, has decided to release a heavily redacted transcript of Omar Mateen’s 911 calls during his massacre at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando. The sheer idiocy of this administration’s attempts to decouple jihadist atrocities from Islam would be laughable if the consequences were not so dire. For a brilliant explanation of this deranged campaign, listen to the reaction of Sam Harris in the aftermath of the Orlando attack. The distinction between his rational exposition of the issues at stake and the web of preposterous lies spun by this administration and its flunkies could not be any clearer.

Expanding upon yesterday’s post, it should be noted that there were several subjects covered during Michael Mukasey’s talk, particularly the question and answer session that followed, which had little to do with our government’s malfeasance in combating international and domestic Islamic terrorism. One topic of keen interest was the ongoing FBI criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private e-mail server, which continues to yield unpleasant discoveries for the presumptive Democratic nominee. The most surprising moment during the Q&A session occurred when Judge Mukasey not only vouched for the integrity of Director James Comey-who has been widely praised across the political aisle-but asserted that there would be mass resignations from career FBI officials if the result of this investigation was not an indictment of the former Secretary of State and FLOTUS.

The decision of Barack Obama to meet with Attorney General Loretta Lynch immediately upon endorsing Clinton’s candidacy does not auger well for a non-political decision in this investigation. Neither does the fact that the Obama Justice Department is marinated in corruption, and has been unable to impartially administer the law since the days of Eric Holder, Judge Mukasey’s successor at DOJ. That said, if there is a wave of principled resignations within the Department of Justice this fall, a la the Saturday Night Massacre, remember where you heard it first.

For those of you still laboring under the impression that Islam is not at war with the West-including the presumptive Democratic nominee for President-I have some shocking news. It turns out that the followers of Mohammed have other ideas. The plan to assassinate free speech, counterjihad activist Pamela Geller-which was, thankfully, thwarted through the work of the FBI and a tactically placed drone strike-was simply one of many plots devised by jihadist networks which have agents inside of the United States. Networks that have yet to be penetrated by American human intelligence and which now have a steady supply of recruits thanks to horrifically misguided immigration policies.

What should continue to infuriate those of you who have been paying attention is the way this issue is being framed by willfully ignorant and/or malicious hacks within the enemedia. A typical example of journalistic malpractice can be found in the Daily Mail, which-as Robert Spencer points out-has the strange distinction of being the newspaper most preoccupied with the Islamification of Europe while simultaneously denying that Islam itself is a problem. Apparently, the target of at least 2 known assassination plots provoked her would-be murderers by publicly dissenting from the dogma promulgated by the Fourth Estate’s favorite religion. A religion which is unique in enjoying blanket immunity from criticism.

Perhaps that has something to do with how adherents to the Religion of Peace deal with legitimate critiques of their faith. A pattern of violence and coercion that can be traced back to the founder of this religion, who himself didn’t countenance rational criticism. This campaign of brutality and intolerance has been so successful that it has silenced all but a few courageous voices in the West, which in turn makes it that much easier for jihadists to hunt down its intended targets, a reality which hasn’t been lost on Mark Steyn. It has also turned the mainstream media, ranging from commercial and public broadcasting networks-both radio and television-cable news, national and regional newspapers, and incredibly powerful websites into mouthpieces for the most retrograde, illiberal ideology known to man.

One wonders if the people asserting that Pamela Geller “provoked” these Islamic bombs-duds, fortunately, in this case-feel the same way about Gerard O’Neill and Dick Lehr. Did they provoke mobster James Bulger Jr. through their critical investigative reporting into his murderous criminal empire? What about controversial author and radio host Howie Carr? Was the grizzled Irish mobster nicknamed Whitey justified in his attempt to eliminate Carr for his insolence? Employing the logic used by the regressive left to slander Geller and her allies in the counter-jihad movement, one would come to that ineluctable conclusion.

What’s perplexing  is the implicit assumption that by blackening the name of  notorious “Islamophobes” and trying to preempt any public debate on the nature of Islam these journalists are assuring their own safety, which could not be further from the truth. The idea that you can somehow preserve the institutions of Western civilization  for yourself while eroding them for your perceived enemies-who actually believe in and exercise those values, unlike your reactionary Islamist allies-is a staggering form of cognitive dissonance. The brutal, globally shared execution of non-right wing, non-Islamophobic journalist Steven Sotloff should have demonstrated this, if the murder of dozens of other journalists, NGO workers, and even an Israel-hating, Italian Marxist did not. Somehow, the rather elementary notion that you can’t compromise with people who demand your complete and utter submission-up to and including your own death-hasn’t penetrated the minds of those who man North American and European news desks.

The collective amnesia these individuals must suffer from is astounding to contemplate. I would recommend reading The Camp of the Saints, a grim portrait of the future of the West, but I doubt it would change their minds, which seem predetermined to ignore any portions of reality which conflict with their surreal conception of human nature. Then again, there’s always the chance that some will come to their senses. If so, perhaps Pamela Geller won’t be our Cassandra. If not, we have a bleak future, and many regrets, ahead of us.

A great interview of someone charged with oversight of Barack Obama’s increasingly lawless presidency. Unfortunately, as the latest decision regarding Eric Holder and the Justice Department’s response to Fast and Furious makes clear, even as the White House’s defiance of the law grows, the options we have for holding it accountable are not optimal. While the President has conceded that his decision to delay expanding upon his unconstitutional administrative amnesty is merely a political expedient intended to help Democrats salvage the upcoming congressional elections, Chairman Smith’s pairing of this outrageous plan against the continuing conflict Syria is an interesting juxtaposition. 

I suggest you listen to this illuminating interview in full to get an idea of what Obama & Co. have planned for us in the upcoming months. 

The breathtaking abuse of power by the Obama administration in almost every area of immigration law has obscured its criminality in other areas, particularly its obstruction of justice in the Fast and Furious scheme. Now, Brian Terry’s brother has written a scathing letter calling upon the Justice Department to answer for its many transgressions-and repeated obstructions of justice-related to this notorious gun-trafficking scheme. 

The highlights of Kent Terry’s scathing missive are provided by Breitbart.com, which has maintained some excellent coverage of this issue in the face of widespread media apathy-with a few courageous exceptions. Even if the chattering class would prefer not to examine this subject, ordinary Americans need to be reminded of this administration’s inveterate hostility to the truth. If for no other reason than to do justice to the memory of  Border Patrol Agent Terry. 

 

As most of you know, this website has endeavored to provide information about a subject that-with a few notable exceptions-has been woefully underreported-and at times grossly misrepresented-by the mainstream media, i.e. the obstruction of and corruption of justice at the heart of the Fast and Furious scandal. The countless lives that have been sacrificed on the later of this horrifically misguided-at best-program is well known, as is the White House’s strenuous efforts to deceive the American public about its origins and their attempts to cover up its carnage. 

That is why I’m pleased to relay the news that some members of Congress are still pressing the Obama administration to account for its actions during Fast and Furious, including possibly reviving the independent counsel statute. Whatever comes of these probes, there is an imperative to achieve a measure of justice for the men and women-including the late Brian Terry-who were killed by the malfeasance and political opportunism of this administration.
