Update: Madame Hillary weighs in

The President still has no plans for his administration to actually enforce the law. What a relief!

If you didn’t realize how important this presidential election is, the Supreme Court reminded you earlier today with 2 immensely consequential decisions. The first upholds Judge Hanen’s injunction against Barack Obama’s patently unconstitutional amnesty known as DAPA. The second rejected a challenge to a policy of racial discrimination in college admissions by the University of Texas brought by Abigail Fisher.

This is also a reminder of why holding a hearing for Merrick Garland is such a monumentally bad idea.

The American victims our our government’s reckless immigration policies speak out. Watch the complete hearing live. That’s some nice lying, Congresswoman Lofgren.

This must displease those at the editorial board of the paper which commissioned this poll, but facts are stubborn things. It turns out that the majority of Americans do not want to be inundated with Muslim refugees from Syria. Perhaps these respondents have noticed the way  these uninvited guests have caused previously thriving European economies/societies to implode. Or perhaps they merely distrust this administration’s ability to manage what has become an unmanageable crisis under President Obama. In either case, the country’s verdict is already in. Not that anyone in Washington is listening.

Final Appeal http://american-rattlesnake.org/2015/11/final-appeal/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2015/11/final-appeal/#respond Sun, 29 Nov 2015 01:30:34 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=19775

The federal judiciary has yet to issue a definitive ruling on the legality of DAPA, however the Obama administration took one of the final steps in the appeals process this week. As Numbers USA reports, the White House has officially submitted a petition for its case to be heard before the Supreme Court, now that it has lost in the lower courts.

Although the ultimate outcome is unknowable, we happen to agree with Roy Beck. We also can’t help but note the irony of this administration using the judicial process to preserve what is a naked power play with little to no legal support.

Vox Populi http://american-rattlesnake.org/2015/04/vox-populi/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2015/04/vox-populi/#respond Thu, 09 Apr 2015 04:47:38 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=18776 Author: Gage Skidmore Scott Rasmussen speaking at CPAC in Washington D.C. on February 10, 2012.

One of the ways the treason lobby attempts to alter the cultural landscape is by manipulating public opinion. Edward Bernays was a piker compared to the good folks at the New York Times and National Public Radio. Which is why the most recent poll by Rasmussen Reports will probably come as a bit of a shock to people who have been deceived into believing that our current immigration policies are wholeheartedly embraced by the American public.

Contrary to the meme recycled endlessly by the political class, American citizens actually want more deportations, not less, and disdain the extralegal, unconstitutional expansion of immigration pursued by the current regime. In fact, they even want to reconsider the concept of birthright citizenship, which isn’t surprising when you consider the absurdities it entails.

We’ll see how far this news wends its way into the media slipstream. If the past-and present-is any guide, you shouldn’t get your hopes up.

One of the central conceits of open borders fetishists is the assumption that illegal aliens are somehow being denied equal treatment. Equal to whom is the question which is never addressed, let alone answered satisfactorily, and it’s easy to see why. To treat those who have broken the law-many laws, often repeatedly-on par with law-abiding citizens or resident aliens, or those attempting to immigrate to this country lawfully, is to necessarily discriminate against the rest of us in a spectacular fashion.

The end result of this hypocrisy and inequality in enforcing the law can be seen in its starkest form in the state of California, whose decline 4th generation native Victor Davis Hanson has magisterially chronicled. Now, Jessica Vaughan of the Center for Immigration Studies has produced a fascinating backgrounder on the obstacles those waiting in line face because of the USCIS decision to prioritize DACA cases, thanks to the extraconstitutional whim of President Obama.

Evidently, some people are more equal than others. At least, according to this White House, which never fails to accommodate those who are least-deserving of Americans’ good will.

The Rule Of Law http://american-rattlesnake.org/2015/02/the-rule-of-law/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2015/02/the-rule-of-law/#respond Wed, 18 Feb 2015 15:18:44 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=18580 Texas-southern

Kudos to Judge Andrew Hanen, bête noire of the treason lobby, for being the first person to put a halt-albeit, temporarily-to Barack Obama’s most recent lawless executive action. We recommend reading Legal Insurrection’s analysis of Judge Hanen’s Temporary Injunctive Order, which includes generous excerpts, as well as a pdf file of the judge’s complete decision. Our friend Hans Von Spakovsky has an in-depth analysis of Hanen’s injunction over at The Daily Signal which deserves your perusal as well. Whether this ruling strengthens the spine of the heretofore invertebrate class within Congress remains to be seen. However, what can’t be disputed is that this ruling is a victory-however delayed-for the American people.

Breaking The Bank http://american-rattlesnake.org/2014/12/breaking-the-bank/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2014/12/breaking-the-bank/#respond Tue, 30 Dec 2014 07:56:31 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=18283 President Barack Obama bids farewell to the family of Mexican President Felipe Calderon following their meeting in Mexico City, Thursday, April 16, 2009. Author: Pete Souza, White House photographer

The cost to implement Barack Obama’s unconstitutional administrative amnesty continues to grow. Even though the price might appear paltry by the accounting standards of a spendthrift federal bureaucracy-it’s not their money, after all-the true measure of what this President’s reckless actions have extracted from us as a nation can only be quantified in the years and decades ahead, as millions of illegal aliens exploit the vast patchwork of government social programs at the state and national level, saddling taxpayers with an even greater burden than the one they currently labor under. The millions of Americans who can’t find gainful employment, the citizens who will be forced to pay for the welfare and lifestyle of intruders-both old and new-in perpetuity, and the nation whose laws will further resemble those of a third world banana republic are all potential consequences of the President’s decision-and the supreme timorousness of his ostensible political opponents.

What’s most troubling though is that there are consequences to this disastrous plan which simply cannot be foreseen, in large part because so much of it is shrouded in mystery. Whether this is by design or merely another manifestation of this administration’s staggering, Carteresque incompetence-and willingness to put political opportunism above statecraft-is an open question. However, what can’t be disputed is that, despite misleading press reports by glorified White House stenographers to the contrary, we are in uncharted territory.

Justice For All http://american-rattlesnake.org/2014/11/justice-for-all/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2014/11/justice-for-all/#respond Sun, 30 Nov 2014 19:45:23 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=18157 Just a reminder that the nation’s sheriffs, tasked with enforcing the laws which our president continues to eviscerate, will be rallying against the latest imperial decree in Washington D.C. a week from now. You can read the complete letter by Sheriff Thomas Hodgson here. Sheriffs Against Amnesty is just the latest illustration that, contrary to the misleading bullet points issued by open borders spin doctors, law enforcement is overwhelmingly opposed to sanctioning-let alone, endorsing-the presence of illegal aliens in this country. Which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who’s been paying attention to the latest horrific crime to be visited upon innocent American citizens.

We urge you to contact your own police commissioner or sheriff and request that he or she join the effort to nullify the President’s latest unlawful, extraconstitutional edict, just as those charged with enforcing and applying immigration law have done, in spite of the potential professional repercussions.

Ours is a nation of laws, despite what the former lecturer in Constitutional law currently occupying the White House may think.

NY ICE Rally Against Administrative Amnesty (Today at 7 PM!) http://american-rattlesnake.org/2014/11/ny-ice-rally-against-administrative-amnesty-today-at-7-pm/ http://american-rattlesnake.org/2014/11/ny-ice-rally-against-administrative-amnesty-today-at-7-pm/#respond Thu, 20 Nov 2014 08:31:53 +0000 http://american-rattlesnake.org/?p=18129

This just in, courtesy of Joanna Marzullo, founder of NY ICE:

As many of you know, Obama is planning on issuing an Executive amnesty later today.  This action is anticipated because the recent mid-term elections were not in his favor.  Obama is showing his hand, and showing he will exceed his rights as President when what he wants goes against the will of the American people he is supposed to represent.

The other side, of course, is rejoicing over this and plans to have a celebration while watching Obama’s announcement at SEIU’s Manhattan headquarters.

The details for our counter-demonstration can be found below.  I plan on being there, and hope many of you will as well!

WHAT:  NY ICE’s Counter Demonstration of Obama’s Planned Announcement of Executive Amnesty
WHEN:  November 20, 2014 (Thursday) at 7:30pm
WHERE: SEIU at  25 West 18th Street (between 5th and 6th Avenues) in Manhattan
BRING:  Signs and Cameras
