Replaceable Americans

With the release of yet another deceptively glowing government report on the number of people filing jobless claims, it’s perhaps a good time to look at the true state of our economy. Which-excepting favored political demographics-is grim indeed, even according to the vaunted Bureau of Labor Statistics. And, as we’ve noted many times in the past, some of those hardest hit by the Great Recession-and our government’s conscious efforts at electing a new people-are African-Americans.

That’s why it pleased me to learn that Numbers USA took the opportunity of the 1st official presidential debate to air the commercial seen above. I’m not sure how much CNBC’s audience cares about the dire economic plight of black Americans, but there’s something to be said for not preaching to the choir. And for that I say, “good on ya, Roy Beck!”
