End Birthright Citizenship

One of the most intractable problems we face in our struggle to reduce the flow of illegal immigration into this country is the widespread practice of coming to this country for the specific purpose of birthing children who will grow up with American citizenship.

Although the parents of anchor babies are a distinct minority among the population of illegal aliens living in this country, the damage done to our law by investing their children with full American citizenship-something I’ve explored on this site in the past-is incalculable. This, in addition to the encouraging effect it has on other potential foreign nationals who wish to come and live in this country illegally, is why Rep. Steve King of Iowa has introduced a bill that would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to better reflect the urgent need to crack down on individuals who bypass our laws in order to receive the fruits of American citizenship.

New York Ice is launching a lobbying campaign to get HR 140 enacted in this session of Congress.  Its president has urged all of her members to start calling 202.225.4426 and mailing Rep. King  handwritten letters at:

Representative Steve King

I highly suggest that all readers of American Rattlesnake do the same.

On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, National Association of Former Border Patrol Officers, I wish to thank Gerard on this site, and the NY ICers. You are doing a fantastic job for America.

As a native New Yorker, I really am enjoying all that you do.
