The Republican-controlled House shall propose; the Democratic-controlled Senate shall dispose. Were any legislation of any import, let alone controversy, miraculously to slip through the Congressional cracks, a veto pen would await it, just down the street– and, the chances of anyone’s mustering a two-thirds, or greater, super-majority to override a presidential veto during the 112th Congress are the two traditional ones: slim (in the United States House of Representatives) to none (in the United States Senate)! The next two years in official Washington shall be all about posing, posturing, and positioning for the 2012 general election– now a mere 734 days away….
