Long Islanders Rally in Support of Arizona

On Sunday, August 15, Tea Party activists rallied in Arizona to support SB 1070, the controversial law requiring state authorities to enforce immigration laws.

In Huntington, Long Island, on that same date, the Conservative Society for Action, a local Tea Party organization, had over fifty members rallying along the Jericho Turnpike in support of their Arizona compatriots. The rally was peaceful.

American-Rattlesnake has pictures of the event.

The demonstrators showed their support for Republican candidates John Gomez for US Congress and Gary Berntsen for US Senate. There was nearly unanimous support for Arizona’s stand, but immigration was not foremost on most participants’ minds. They were most concerned with recent health care reforms and the growing federal deficit. All shared a vociferous loathing of President Barack Obama.

The Conservative Society for Action does stand strongly with Arizona. The issue of illegal aliens is of extreme importance to us, as well as many other issues. Here on Long Island we are struggling with our own illegal alien problems in several communities. Huntington and Farmingville are two such communities that have serious illegal immigration situations that are being ignored by our congressmen, Steve Israel and Tim Bishop.

If the Federal Government was doing the job of protecting our borders, then Arizona would not need a law to enforce the law. This is not a matter of profiling. The current administration and left wing party leadership will try to intimidate us with suing us for trying to protect our borders when they refuse, use the race card, profiling, etc. We must stand up to the bully tactics that are being used, tell it like it is, and demand the Federal Government govern in the manner in which they have sworn to do. They need to follow the Constitution and if they continue to have complete disregard of the law that they expect us to follow we need to take the appropriate action, that being, we need to fire them.

On election day, please hold them accountable, vote them out of office.

i support the Arizona law. we have to replace Levy, Israel. we need someone in office
who will defend us. we are tired of 1.supporting anchor babies 2. paying medical bills
for illegas. 3. when our troops come home from Iraq, illegals will have all of the
    blue collar jobs.
    4. why doesn’t our politicians enforce the laws prohibiting contractors from hiring
illegals? this is tax evasion. if we don’t file income taxes, we will go to jail.
    5. we have got to replace every politician one by one.

I am against ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. So I stand with Arizona 1000%. Furthermore, I think NY should do something about all of the ILLEGALS here. If every state did thier part to ENFORCE our laws regarding US Citizenship, we wouldn’t have this problem.

I would like someone to answer this question for me: If we all immigrated to your country of origin, what would we get for free?

GOD BLESS AMERICA, LAND THAT I LOVE!

Most of us would get free room and board– in their respective jail cells!

Whatever views you hold on SB 1070, most people would agree that our country’s immigration system is broken, and that we need to revise outdated laws. The system we have now just isn’t working.

I don’t believe it is our laws that are broken or outdated, but the Democrats (Socialists) would like you to believe that. It is the willful disregard or the Laws on the books. Our elected officials are not supporting the Law’s on the books, they are turning there back on them. When we have officials picking and choosing what laws they want to support we are finished as a lawful society.
